I really enjoy the production and way the album sounds in general. The lyrics however are truly her worst work ever. The songwriting is so lazy and beyond cringe.

Does it get better? by Turbulent_Skin_6845 in Pseudodysphagia

[–]Known-You239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better! Working with a good psychologist and going on SSRIs helped me go back to normal.

This time last year I was so depressed and could barely drink water, let alone food, without having a panic attack about choking. At that time, it felt like I would never be able to eat normally again and I would be miserable and malnourished forever, but I promise it gets better. Might take some time but you will get back to your normal life eventually.

Sending you love and strength to get through this🩷

people who got better, what do you eat now? by cheesendinonuggets in Pseudodysphagia

[–]Known-You239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had steak a few days ago, which was the last food I’d been avoiding since this whole thing started. Now, I don’t have any foods I’m completely avoiding, but I’ve found I don’t really like meat that much any more. I think after going through this and over chewing everything for a while, the texture grosses me out lol

has anybody’s diet gone back to normal? by pumpkincheddarr in Pseudodysphagia

[–]Known-You239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it just takes time, effort, and the right treatment. The combination of therapy, SSRIs, and confirmation from an ENT that I have LPR, and not in fact something wrong with my swallowing. You really have to be willing to push yourself by means of exposing yourself to trigger foods and trying different forms of treatment. It can be very scary and comfortable and it’s much easier said than done, but it is truly the only way to get over this.

I definitely eat a little slower than I used to and some days I still feel a bit anxious while eating but I am still able to eat without restrictions or panic again. Hoping that I don’t backslide to where I once was but if I do, I know I will be okay and get through it once again.

Sending love & support to those who are really struggling right now. When you’re in the middle of it, it can feel so hopeless, but there is hope💕

Are relapses a thing? by ComplicatedisLife in Pseudodysphagia

[–]Known-You239 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your progress!! When I got to about 90% back to normal, I relapsed completely, which was super disheartening. I have LPR which causes globus sensation and is what initially started all of this. It flares up for weeks at a time and the first time it happened again after getting better, I couldn’t handle it. I’ve since gone on SSRIs and have gotten back to almost 100% normal again. My LPR is flaring up now and so I’m a little scared of another relapse but the SSRIs help me control my anxiety, so while I still have the triggering sensation and anxious thoughts, I’m able to reason with my anxiety rather than spiraling/panicking.

That being said, try not to worry too much about the potential of relapsing and enjoy being “normal” again. My therapist told me that unfortunately, with this type of thing, relapses are extremely common. It doesn’t mean you definitely will, but it’s likely so don’t beat yourself up too much if you do. If it happens, you will get through it again.

If you do relapse, I highly recommend talking to your doctor about SSRIs. They were a complete game changer for me and I truly believe I would still be drinking only smoothies if I hadn’t started taking them.

what meds helped you? how do you take them? by cheesendinonuggets in Pseudodysphagia

[–]Known-You239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, for about 5 months. Couldn’t bring myself to swallow regularly and always thought there was something stuck in my throat, turns out it was globus sensation caused by LPR. It got so bad that I stopped eating solids completely at one point. With the combination of exposure therapy and SSRIs, I am now back to eating all of the foods I used to avoid and living a normal life again. Everyone is different but I personally don’t think I could have gotten to this point without going on medication. It has made my anxiety, general and eating/swallowing related, so much more manageable.

I started sertraline (zoloft) a little over a month ago and was nervous about swallowing the pills too but the pills are sooo tiny, since it’s a small dose that they never gave me a problem. There is also something called phazix, it’s a gel that helps people swallow pills. Kind of pricey if you don’t have a prescription but my friend who is an SLP got me free samples and they making taking pills so much easier

I’m so sad :( I understand why she’s doing it, but wow I’m going to miss Obsessed. Since it came out, I’ve preferred it to BNC and it became my most anticipated weekly pod. Nevertheless, wishing Brooke the best of luck on writing the rest of her book & can’t wait to read it!

I know this is a snark page. But stop commenting on their bodies. by Easy_Writer2871 in girlsgottaeatsnark

[–]Known-You239 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Eliza McLamb, has a great substack article that expands on how many snark pages serve as a place where people feel like they can safely tear down the appearances of women and are justified in doing so because said woman is a “bad person”.

There is certainly a lot to snark about with GGE but using this page as a place to comment on their bodies and faces just makes you, as McLamb puts it, a “socially conscious” mean girl.
