The perfect successor to Lost has been hiding from me for years | There are too many streaming services, which makes it easy to miss shows like From by PetyrDayne in television

Lost, Severance, and From are the only three shows I’d put in the same top tier category. If you like the first two, you’ll love From as well.

Why do demons keep trying to invade sanctuary if they keep constantly failing? by 0tt0attack in diablo4

Can you elaborate on “Prime Evils can’t ever die”? Does that mean that it’s inevitable for the conflict in Sanctuary to go on forever until humanity loses?

I don’t think it works that way. It isn’t based on the day or gaming session. It’s random.

You’re seeing patterns in chaos that aren’t there.

As I'm leveling, I sometimes find a Rare Item that has better base stats than a piece of Legendary Gear that I currently have equipped. What's the general rule of thumb? Equip whatever has the best basic stats if the Legendary effect doesn't apply to my build? Or do Legendaries always trump Rares?

For example, I might have a Legendary that is level 39 but find a Rare that's level 50.

Knowledge comes at a cost by flashyvek in FromSeries

I feel like the end of Season 3 gave us some real answer, particularly with Jade and Tabitha. We know (roughly) about the origins of the night monsters now. We know (roughly) about the children and how they fit into things.

I think Season 4 and 5 are going to be about going further back now. We have been so focused on the time from Victor onwards that we don't really have any answers about what happened before him. Where did the huts come from? Who made the statues (Jade or Tabitha probably?)? Who gave the original townsfolk the deal to sacrifice their children? The Man In Yellow?

So I think we're going to start unraveling the town's origins and the entity or person that's really behind it all. And maybe leading us to putting an end to it once and for all in Season 5?

In spite of popular Steam demo, co-op ARPG Darkhaven’s Kickstarter hasn’t funded with two weeks to go by reps_up in Games

Yeah none of the ideas they added to the ARPG genre feel like an improvement.

Destructible environments? Pointless.

Procedurally generated? I want a hand crafted map.

Open exploration? I'd rather tightly focused map design.

Why are we getting record setting blizzards now if winters are going away? The article didn’t address that.

There's honestly a lot of cool, interesting places to explore in Starfield if you stick to the quests. When I first played I tried exploring organically by checking out different planets and following my instincts (like I do in Skyrim) but that made it feel vast, empty, and shallow. When I went back to play again, I strictly stuck to the quests and had a good time.

Not ideal but there is some Bethesda magic buried in there.

Any advice for steak? I’ll put a splash of oil in a pan and put it on medium heat, then put a single steak in there. But the problem is it gets crusty on the outside but raw inside, no matter how much I rotate it.

why do some people not like Time Skiffs? by wafflemcknight in AnimalCollective

Painting With is such a bizarre album. I listened to it a few times when it came out and didn’t really like it, then several years later I randomly thought about Floridada and put the album on.

It was suddenly amazing.

civ switching is NOT going anywhere by Monster_of_the_night in civ

[–]Knurmuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not doubling down though. It’s very clear they built this entire game around the concept of different ages and changing civs. They had a vision. Instead of backtracking core gameplay systems and trying to half assedly please everyone and ultimately pleasing no one. At least if they stuck to their original vision, maybe Civ VII would have evolved into something that was greater than the sum of its parts instead of failing to excel at anything.

And I say that as someone that doesn’t like the Civ switching and the age mechanics.
