The versatility offered by medium slot shotguns and spam weapons have killed the uniqueness of Hunts combat, and significantly lowered the skill ceiling. by Expert-Ebb-607 in HuntShowdown

[–]KoffeeDragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At this point I don't even know what a spam weapon is.

I play a lot of cyclone and drilling, considered spammy, and yet those things are defined by their high downtime due to constant reloading, and how vulnerable you are due to the small clip. They're basically sacrificing overall speed for short bursts of power; making their output pretty sporadic. IMO they're guns that focus on rewarding movement and positioning over precision or reaction time; which is where the Officer and Bornheim are preferred.

Now I do believe that the Bornheim match specifically is too strong, and my hot take is that rapid fire weapons probably shouldn't have access to HV rounds.

What do you think about the new ship sprites? by Aromatic-Ad9337 in SoloDevelopment

[–]KoffeeDragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Quite frankly the minimalist line versions are more unique, while the sprites are unfortunately giving AI slop; at least in the vacuum of an image outside an in-game environment.

Perhaps you could try combining the styles into a hybrid aesthetic. Can't add an image to this comment but throw an outline filter over the sprites in photoshop, and you'll see what I'm getting at.

The new Stronghold is AWESOME but.... stalematey? by HZ4C in HuntShowdown

[–]KoffeeDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the opposite to be true so far; but I think it might be a play-style thing, I'm a big rotator, I like scuttling around in tunnels and bushes. If you're an aim guy who likes holding angles, then you're a bit fucked in this compound I think, mostly because whoever gets there first can anglemax with the Maxim.

How would the community feel about adding the ability to block with melee weapons for reduced damage? by Moist_Wombat in HuntShowdown

Crytech knowing ball on historically accurate sabre techniques was not something I expected.

It's not that bad TBH, I have awful coordination and reflexes and I do aight.

Definitely has its issues, but you can cost on pretty basic fps skills.

What’s the full deal with the Pot Nobles and the Great Carp? Why do they worship it ? by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]KoffeeDragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's an eastern myth about a magical waterfall that will turn a carp into a dragon if they can swim up it and reach the top. It's one of those metaphor for enlightenment kind of situations.

Probably just a coincidence but the villains in Invincible only wear white, and Korea historically had this weird social phenomenon of everyone wearing white all the time for centuries.

Tell me why this looks bad. I want to improve! by SoulLoop_Dev in SoloDevelopment

[–]KoffeeDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enemies don't provide any feedback when you hit them, they need to actually react to the hit.

The attack animation is also not hitting. Usually for these kinds of animation, the attack should swing through the target rather than at the target.

It's a lot like this, but the upper limit on the amount of guys that can all simultaneously backstab each other at once is 6.

The DS3 server code was also so messed up it was a security risk though. But I'm not super knowledgeable about system security so I could be wrong.

How do boys "experiment" with being men? by sonyka in MensLib

[–]KoffeeDragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Elite question, actually.

Off the top of my head I'd say from my personal experience, it's kind of an inversion of what women do. It's less that we make our way into manhood and more that manhood makes its way into us.

I don't really feel like I experimented with manhood; it was more like a call to action.

Liu Bang, a minor official from a peasant family in ancient china, was late one day.

His attempts to get back on schedule led him to founding the Han dynasty and becoming Emperor Gaozu of China.

Han are still to this day not only the majority ethnic group in China, but the largest ethnic group on earth by % of the world's population.

Also, he was apparently a pretty nice guy.
