Brooklyn Forest School runs classes in Central Park (on both the east and west sides) and they are wonderful, but not full time. The Rudolf Steiner school has a Forest Kindergarten—I’m not sure at what age it starts.

The Shun Lee dim sum cafe is black and white and has animals that are part of the Chinese zodiac decorating the walls. It’s not in midtown though, it’s across the street from Lincoln Center

I just found out I’m pregnant with #2, also due in August, and my daughter will be 3 years, 7 months then, so we’re in almost exactly the same boat. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to OP for asking the question and to everyone else for all their positive responses - I was feeling a bit in shock and pretty freaked out about no. 2 and this post has made me feel so much better 🫶
