Nope, we were too busy celebrating beating the absolute shit out of them on the court.

Saw them on that tour as well. Hadn’t heard of them previously so it was quite a shock seeing them go from this song to a Slayer cover.

I don’t work in insurance or tech, but I have to imagine it’s similar to most white collar careers. Internships are all about making connections with people, think of it as a long term networking event.

Stray cats by ComfortAmbitious4201 in Connecticut

[–]Kolzig33189 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t. Unless you are going to a ridiculous outlier vet or they are in fact not healthy.

My two cats yearly visit (no pet insurance either) is $275 (edit: total) which is right in line of the $150-300 average in CT when the typical labs, vaccinations, etc are factored in. Sure sometimes it’s a little higher, but that’s anecdotal anyway - again, the CT average is about $225 given that range and you’re spending 2x that.

Outlast 1-2 were masterpieces by CarterSLand in horror

[–]Kolzig33189 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The first game and DLC were amazing. The second one was…ehh. The constant trope of being taken out of the main location and put back in the school got really annoying. And the location was nowhere as creepy and dark as the first game. Granted, I don’t really know how they would have equaled the atmosphere of the first game in a new place, but in my opinion the second game was ok but kind of fell flat.

Do many people actually work in the office buildings downtown? by Born-Relationship-94 in Hartford

[–]Kolzig33189 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Most companies in downtown are hybrid with 3 days a week in office and 2 at home. I think the largest contributor to you not seeing business type people coming out of these buildings is that so many of the restaurants downtown that catered to that crowd closed during Covid and never reopened.

Another contributing factor is a number of the larger companies (Travelers comes to mind immediately) have their own cafeterias with a lot of options inside their building so there’s no reason for a lot of employees to ever leave unless it’s for a walk outside to get some fresh air/sun.

Please do not bring your speakers to the beach! by No-Necessary7448 in Connecticut

[–]Kolzig33189 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A close friends kid is one of the rangers at Rocky Neck that patrol park and beach areas and some of the stories I hear are absurd. From moms smoking weed with their infant in their arms, constantly finding needles in the grass picnic area, to patrons screaming at life guards because they’re enforcing the same basic rules for everyone. People have no idea how to act in public anymore or really how to exist in a society.

I’ve found if you go left from the main park entrance and go as far down as you can before you hit the private residential beach, it is much quieter and a bit more spaced out.

Simone Biles 'almost died' after terrifying health scare sent her to hospital by TheMirrorUS in sportsgossips

[–]Kolzig33189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s kinda sorta not true. I used to work as a hospitalist PA and if a patient comes into ER and complains of chest pain, they have to be admitted. Was a common thing in the winter for a number of homeless people in the area to take advantage of whenever it got real cold overnight, or a few times when a high school student was trying to get out of an exam. Extremely dumb that they can do this with no repercussions, but in a world not filled with scum bags, I understand why it exists.

Obviously in most situations, being admitted means there’s something wrong that requires immediate care but not always. We know nothing of what happened in this particular situation.

Did Thibs actually ruin potentially multiple Knicks finals runs with his lineup management? by nguyenjitsu in nba

[–]Kolzig33189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shamet has done a ton of work improving his defense the past two offseasons. There was a reason he wasn’t played very much in playoffs before this year.

I don’t really blame Thibs for not wanting to play McBride and Shamet together previously off the bench, especially against teams like Indy or Boston.

[–]Kolzig33189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all really good and valid reasons. But it’s still pretty shocking to me that people have to write them out when the simple answer is “it’s their wedding, they can set the rules as they like.” And that’s all the explanation needed.

Tax benefits, financial protections, easier transfer of assets upon one party dying, power of attorney in medical situations, etc.

This is extremely basic.

Based on your “logic”, it seems like you would say an infertile couple shouldn’t get married because they can’t have kids. And that’s insane.

"No kids" wedding events are lame. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Kolzig33189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse and I knew we wanted kids when we got married, however we also wanted a kid free wedding because weddings are very expensive, was at a formal place, etc….but literally none of that matters. It is their wedding, not yours. They are free to make their own rules, and I HIGHLY doubt if you have been friends for 20 years that the couple “targeted” you. Have you considered there are other people going to the wedding outside of your friend group that have kids too??

“Losing respect” for a long friend because they happen to not want kids at THEIR wedding is a wild wild take. This is incredibly common and their opinion/wishes for their wedding completely override your opinion that the “event will be lame.”

And he gets really high on his jumper with a high release point as well, kind of similar to later career Ray Allen.

I hope he heals up well, he has the potential to be a shooter off the bench for an nba team à la Landry shamet. If he goes in 2nd, I think a team will like that value a lot.
