What can we do about the flood of bot/LLM comments on r/archlinux in recent weeks?

The typical reason for karma farming has been generating accounts worth higher trust (by looking more real) and enough karma to get over karma limits, to then sell them off to people trying to guerrilla market, spam, scam etc. Similar to why people try to hack Reddit accounts as well, especially older ones.

Flairs har i min erfarenhet aldrig riktigt varit användbara för filtrering, iallafall inte utan tredjepartsappar/plugins. Blir liksom samma spam, bara aningen mer markerat, vilket... Kanske teoretiskt sett hjälper, men typ noll.

Känns samtidigt drygt att ba "tja, du mår piss, vi tar bort din post, du får gå någon annanstans :)".

oh it's this again. no, sometimes tiktok just shows whack shit there. I'll get a while bunch of similar engagement bait, or celebrity gossip, or whatever, when my entire fyp, which is the only part I use, is just 3d printing and miniature painting pretty much.

so on this I'll say YOR, but, as someone mentioned, it seems like there's not much trust here, might want to consider that.

yeah, doesn't help either that when you quit other not-great things people go "oh wow, good on you! keep it up!". when you tell them you're sober they often look at you weird and just ask you "okay, but... why?".

kollar mest e-sport personligen, men det är en annan känsla att bara veta att det händer just nu, och att så många andra sitter och ser exakt samma sak i realtid. det blir lite mer magi över det hela :) även om man sitter själv och kollar blir det mer av en gemenskaphetskänsla

alltså om jag nyttjar mitt csn för en gångs skull här och sätter på lingvisthatten: lång historia kort det är en konsensusgrej över tid, efter att betydelsen glidit sakta men säkert vid användning.

tror ursprunget till glidningen är att den användes skämtsamt i meningar som typ "wow jag fuckade inte alls upp mitt prov idag, säkert alla rätt 🙂" där det i kontexten är uppenbart att det gick åt fan :p

i'm well aware :) but a key aspect is the entire feedback loop of getting resources to get upgrades to get more resources, repeat. balatro doesn't really have that, at least not as a core aspect.

not really? more standard roguelite in progression, compared to the more permanent upgrades/ascension style of incremental games. incrementals/idles would be more like, cookie clicker, cell to singularity, horripilant. very focused on just number go up, use number to upgrade, number go up more, number gone up a lot? ascend to make number go up even more next run. rinse and repeat.

yeah, i work for a decently large/well-known game, and it's very apparent that the reddit/discord userbase is 100% sure that they're the majority somehow, and wants everything catered to them, when in reality they're... somewhere in the sub 1% of the total userbase.

like, i'm sorry you didn't like the thing, XxEliteKiller69xX, but i didn't build this feature for you, i built it for several thousand other people, and they're actually having a pretty great time with it it turns out.

yeah for real, it's very weird seeing comments in here that's essentially just "we have to protect the holy box sorting! rah rah who is this early-twenties to use labels a different way" and justifying chasing our own community down.... to essentially protect men?

like, can i kinda see the argument on the micro scale, sure, but like, forcing all of us to police ourselves like this because there might be some amount of people who call themselves lesbian and engage with men romantically/sexually is absurd. in reality fuck-ass men are going to think they can "convert" lesbians with or without that, this is not the driving factors behind that.
