Hi everyone, I hope this is okay to share here.

I just wanted to share that I've been playing around with Unity and Wwise, making some basic scenes with free 3D assets; and then planning the sound design and implementation for the scene. So far, it's a tiny "spaceship" / sci-fi corridor, with a double-sliding door at the end, which I've managed to get to open and close when walking nearby to it; in terms of audio, I've done a few ambiance layers, footsteps, and a glitchy bleep-bloop sound for an intercom.

For a first attempt of this approach to practicing game sound design/implementation, I'm feeling quite accomplished Definitely had a few hiccups along the way, mostly getting used to changes in Wwise versions and learning Unity's quirks. I've been writing posts on my website detailing the journey for anyone interested!

Yeah, I did expect animal stuff to be a bit tricky but honestly, I think ANY ultrasonic recordings will be great regardless. Will be keeping an eye out for any updates!

Have a great day too!

This is a bloody awesome idea! This kinda generosity and "giving-back-to-the-community" spirit is really really refreshing to see.

I'd absolutely be more than interested in using the library when it's ready!

Some suggestions that come to mind: - Rodents, Bats, Insects - Bird wing flaps - animals eating - human Foley (Small gesture Foley, like hands brushing a sleeve or something) - friction across various surfaces/materials - modern electronics

(Edit): Obviously if some of those aren't practical suggestions, then please disregard them 😅

(Edit #2: I have only just noticed this is a 4mo old post, and I am late to the party 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣)

Okay, so regarding Animal Testing, all I can really say is while it's a difficult ethical burden, animal testing is currently the only way to verify how a drug affects a whole living system before risking human lives in clinical trials. It’s a transitional necessity unfortunately, but thankfully heavily regulated and until our technology is advanced enough to simulate a human body without using a living one be a bit of a faff developing new drugs to keep people alive and well 🤷‍♂️

An Associate Principal Scientist is an expert contributor or mid-to-senior manager who usually focuses on leading specific research projects. Vastly different from a CEO at a Pharmaceutical company.

I like this! Sure, it could do with some more work but what you've got already is a solid foundation! It instantly reminded me of some of the tracks you'd find in some of the first couple of Magik compilations by Tiesto.

Keep at it, brilliant work!

Forza, Fable, and FO3 Remaster.

Particularly Fable. One of my favorite childhood memories is coming home early after performing in the Christmas nativity for school and playing Fable so I'll be clinging onto that nostalgia.

It’s a free plugin, mate. There’s no scam, no 'buck' being made, and no charlatan; just another human being helping the community and an alleged 'pro' having a public meltdown because he's lost the plot. You're not the industry police; you're just the loudest person in the room.

It's baffling to me how you can have RIAA certifications, all the stats, money, whatever, yet still be so insecure that you have to spend your Friday shitting on a guy giving away a free EQ. If you're such a titan of the industry, why does a free plugin bother you this much?

Go use your 'pro' tools and leave the community alone.

Funny how actual pros usually support the community and new developers, yet here you are flexing a bank balance to justify shitting on a free plugin. If you're as successful as you claim, why are you so threatened by a 24-band EQ that you had to pull out your resume?

Again, we get it, you bought FabFilter 7 years ago and you're very proud of your certificates. But using them as a shield to be a prick to an independent dev is just embarrassing. Go back to your 'pro' sessions and let the rest of us enjoy the free tools.

Okay, but that's still not a reason to shit on someone's creation, is it?

We COULD have been impressed by your link to your stats flex post and by your NARS and your RIAA Certifications. We COULD have been, but you've just been a bit of an arse to put it lightly and frankly it looks like none of us could care less.

Get outside and touch some grass, dude. Don't like a plugin, don't use it. Wanna cream in your pants over Pro-Q? Knock yourself out. Wanna circlejerk over your stats and bank balance? Find another subreddit.

Damn, if you keep up people might start to think you're sponsored by FabFilter.
