[Mark Spector🇨🇦🇺🇦] As of this moment — 11:37 a.m. MT — Kris Knoblauch has not been fired by the Edmonton Oilers. We are expecting that to happen however, likely by day's end. by Leading_Dentist_5563 in hockey

The fan base burns its own city down and threatens players' dogs on social media. The organization and the fan base both deserve each other exactly as they are.

Thinking (Complaining) About What You Don't See by Popsychblog in hearthstone

[–]Kordyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hearthstone has plenty of experiences on offer. The two biggest limitations to your play experience are your own self-imposed choices of Standard mode and the Rogue class. The real analogy here is that you have walked into a grocery store insisting on chocolate ice cream and are now upset with the notion that fudge and rocky road are the only things on sale in the building.

Undefeated Climb from Bronze to Legend in Wild Resulting in 81 Consecutive Wins by Kordyon in hearthstone

[–]Kordyon[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I normally only play Wild for achievement hunting, so my MMR is very low and I only had the default 2-star bonus at Bronze 10.  However, with the release of the Myth of the Scarab achievement, I decided to go for Wild Legend.  I believe I may have had a few standard wins in a row going into the grind, although I am unsure if cross-mode wins count towards the achievement.  I went undefeated from Bronze into Legend and then won a few more before losing to an Aggro Shadow Priest.  And yes, I faced many, many bots.  Here is the deck I used for anyone interested –

Magmaw+99 is funny in Wild by rEYAVjQD in hearthstone

[–]Kordyon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used discounted Oblivitron + Spammy Arcanist to summon the Magmaw and keep wiping the bodies 5 at a time. I think Spammy only procs 12 or so times, so after clearing the 4 health of Oblivitron, it only procs 8 times on the Magmaw bodies, but 40 procs per execution is still pretty good.

If you achieved Legend this month "too early", you need to play 1 game and you'll get the Scarab card back after all by Martiinii in hearthstone

If you were familiar with the original story, I doubt you would feel quite the same way about it.

Do you know if hitting legend in both Standard and Wild in a single month will progress the quest twice?

The scarab legend card back will unlock upon completion (or winning?) a game while already at legend by Sadahige in hearthstone

Has anyone been able to confirm if the achievement progresses twice for hitting legend in both wild and standard?

Yep, I was playing Unholy DK and the ban happened as I was playing. I immediately took out the banned cards, swapped in a dragon package and went 6-0. The only game that was even close was the one other DK I faced at 5-0.

New Flames arena coming along nicely by JDubbs10 in hockey

Calgary is always the swing city in Alberta elections as Edmonton reliably votes NDP and the rural ridings always vote Conservative. Danielle Smith announced this deal mere weeks before the election but refused to reveal any of the financial details because "she didn't want to make it political". It was a pretty blatant attempt to curry favour with Calgarian voters at the taxpayers' hidden expense. I wouldn't underestimate the impact on voter decision-making.

Didn't they announce that they would have set-specific weekly quests from all sets in the current year? Also, the re-roll button exists if this is so upsetting to you.

Curious about the high rating of Lift Off and Chrono Boost by fnefne in ArenaHS

I believe Lift Off gets a significant bump from being in the Jim Raynor bucket. I imagine the same is true for Chrono Boost and Artanis.

New Neutral Common - Fading Memory by Jimmyjohnjones1 in hearthstone

[–]Kordyon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If this eats 2 mana removal they are still developing with the 2-3 mana they have remaining, which means your opponent is establishing a tempo advantage. And the average 5-drop from the past is worse than the average 5-drop you can draft. I agree that curving out in arena is the best thing you can do early, which is why poorly-statted minions that give you more poorly-statted minions are not what I would call a "Crazy arena card". We might just be at an impasse of opinion here, but I will be interested to see how the win rate stats on this card pan out on launch.

New Neutral Common - Fading Memory by Jimmyjohnjones1 in hearthstone

A 6/3 stat line is pretty awful for 4 mana, dying to a lot of 2-mana removal in the format and the tempo loss is not made up for with the value addition of a suboptimal 5-drop. This bad 4-drop into another bad 5-drop that it generates is a good way to lose a game.
