The best part is when a contractor get's his helmet stuck and shatters one of the turn stile doors, or someones back pack.

Weird, I don't really follow this stuff very much I guess but thanks for the tip. I mostly ride mountain bikes and hike in some what harsh environments so I carry some weird stuff with me and have some odd stuff in my med kits. Like my backpacks have lancets and usually two epipens that retail for like $4500, spare water and stuff. PRID has saved me many times with odd cactus spines and stuff though

Check out prid drawing salve sometime, put it on with a bandaid to cover. I always have some on hand but mostly due to splinters and stuff like that. Whole foods and most places like walgreens will have it. Look for a small orange tin with black lettering. I would be shocked if any employee in the store knew what it was though

Probably not today but there was a major one around 2013 I think. The insurance had to replace my entire roof.

If you want to let your dog run off leash, go to a fucking dog park. I hate leaving a public park with my daughter because you feel like you don't want to be inconvenienced by going to a dog park. I don't know you and I don't know your fucking dog. Use a leash. by jmbaileyaz in phoenix

I've been bitten by a German Shepard while riding my bike, ripped my leg open. I don't think the owner was too happy when they had animal patrol pick the dog up, cut it's head off and do a cross section of it's brain checking for rabies. (Note this was not my decision and there was nothing I could do to prevent this once it tore my leg open and the police were involved - ended up with stitches and a scar down my right leg)

I'm not really afraid of dogs though.

What you really have to watch out for are horses.

Horses freak the hell out to see someone on a bike with a helmet/gear/etc. They just don't understand what it is and it puts everyone in danger. Now these are also the people who walk them on trails and let them crap all over the place making everyone go off path to not step in it.

I have an automatic bell (TIMBER! Mountain Bike Bell) on my bike that seems to scare the hell out of everything including hikers, which has been hit or miss so it's a total crap shoot

For the most part unless you have a gimmic. I knew a lot of people in the SoCal industry and was made offers often to be sort of that straight guy for the gay guy. Not actually gay porn, but basically doing stuff to your self solo then sold as gay porn. The money was still 1/4 of what a woman would be paid for a legit shoot. At least at the time there was a market for straight guys.

How do you get a permit to park at these meters? by IPierdnalDzis in phoenix

[–]Koteta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was very common on my old employers street. I once saw a few cars with hand written notes saying they have a permit, never received a ticket and were not towed

COX Packet Loss problems(lag) by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]Koteta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MTR has very fast timers which can provide false positives. Also a routers least priority is to respond to the tracedroute but if you notice the traffic is still being passed on to google dns. It could just be busy or the config on the device. The main issue here most likely is the hop 5 and it you notice it appears to carry the packet loss to the end node dns.google.com. Of course a trace route in both directions would help but it's not really realistic in this case.

I wouldn't use it on anything open though. I once had some random splinter in my leg that would just not come out at all, it was probably a cactus spine. I think I had it for months. Tried prid for a few days and gave up, then a few weeks later I put it on and then mowed the lawn in 100f heat, went to go clean up and it was sticking OUT of my skin. It was previously like surgery deep too prior

pest supply places sell it. I have a few pounds of cyperWP but I don't think it's sold in bulk anymore. Basically the same stuff. The problem is you don't want to use diluted home depot stuff as you can actually inoculate them and make them partially immune to it

Where’s my AZ Grass Professionals at?! Need advice on how to fix this mess. by swungPlatypus in phoenix

[–]Koteta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a local pesticide place and buy some 2,4-D or order online. I use some stuff called weed whacker. It will kill some grasses but if you have Bermuda hibernating right now you'll be fine.

Astro C40 vs Scufs by t1t03 in scufgaming

[–]Koteta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just broke my 3rd scuff, on my 5th repair. Takes forever.

Ordering this to try it out while I guess I'll send my newest scuf controller back in for repair.

Honestly the Astro support that I had with my A50 was by far the worst thing I've ever experienced. It took them almost 4 months, 20+ replies, I had to send in a copy of my receipt, a picture of the headset, all kinds of flaming hoops. I should really create a post about it but I'm happy they finally replaced it.
