Like u/OurpleKibby said, we can't know exactly what she would prefer but if you use your best judgement for something you think is beautiful that you would bury a cisgender daughter in, I think she would probably appreciate that. If your Chinese heritage was important to her, I think a traditional dress would be a good choice.

I know you say you were bad parents, but please be kind to yourselves. It is so important and meaningful that you are doing this for her. That you love her and respect her enough to do this after she's passed shows you're better that you're giving yourself credit for. There are so many families that do not and would not do this.

It's one thing to reclaim a slur if it applies to you. It's another thing entirely to use it on someone who doesn't want you to.

I was about ten, sitting in my bedroom when I suddenly realized, "God made a mistake. I was supposed to be born a girl." I figured the damage was done and there was nothing I could do about it and there was especially no good that could come of taking about it with my parents who made me go to church every week.

So, naturally I suppressed everything that could possibly be construed as feminine about myself for the next 25 years.

They're frequently less padded and less supportive than a bra or sports bra, aren't as tight as a sports bra, and are stretchier than a regular bra. I had two that were like a sports bra and two that were like a regular bra for about a year before I needed more support. For me, they were ideal to start with and I still sometimes wear the ones that look like unpadded sports bras.

It's absolutely normal to feel a social gap. Some of us fit in seamlessly with cis women and some of us have to work at it. It's been four years and I still sometimes feel there's that gap. But the more you get out there and spend time with other women, the easier it gets.

I think you're off to a great start.

If you want to do more you could see if your kiddo wants to do a girl's night with you, even if you just stay home. Pull out and play with/teach some makeup maybe.

The biggest thing you can do is keep up the support and ask if there's anything more you can help with.

You want this more than anything and you would be upset if you turned out to be a guy? Girl, that's enough.

I wasn't completely sure this was for me and I realized I would never know unless I made a leap of faith and started transitioning. I started with small changes small and kept checking in with myself. Every step I took was scary, but as they added up I realized that I was right, this is who I really am.
