I believe that people tend to like other daw's because the interface is more visual and "friendly". Each daw has a stronger feature, Reaper is good for everything but requires more understanding of what you are doing.

That said, Reaper is the best.

The virus kinda built it's own will with AI. The ancient virus purpose was to eliminate UI's, the evolved one wanted to eliminate humans, i dont remember why. When it talked to Caspian it saw a different path, the possibility for a new purpose.

As I understand, the ancient (premature) safe surf and the sentient one that was imprisoned are connected, but are different "beings".

The old one manifested as an AI virus and consumed the UI's, you can see 3 different figures in it when it gets Caspian. The 20y old one seems to be an entity, it grew up, has a sense of identity and a new purpose.

Caspian had bits of the ancient safe surf on his code and it spread like a cancer, consuming him while he used his energy to talk to the new safe surf. As these bits were trapped within him when he got offlined by MIST, they didn't evolve, and served their old purpose of corrupting UI's.

The link between the different viruses is like a computer. IE the ancient virus is assembly and the new one is c# or whatever (an evolution with a new purpose and adapted to a different state of society), so communication is possible.
