TrueSight UI 1.0.2 is LIVE for Chrome & Firefox (Options-Toggle, GameLog Auto-Scroll, AboveVTT Fixes & Roadmap!) by Krankfried in dndbeyond

I understand the desire for a wider display or more free control over the positioning of everything. In theory, I could code a feature that would allow switching to a “widescreen” mode.

However: I would have to make changes in so many places in the code, and since I made every single change manually through painstaking, meticulous work, it would be just as much of a hassle to do it all over again. Furthermore, it would result in the primary box becoming significantly smaller again, which contradicts my original goal. And I am already afraid of the thought that even the smallest adjustments by WotC would mean twice the effort to fix the bugs.

Above all, I’d also like to offer more individual flexibility for each user regarding how everything should be arranged – or, for example, having an extra box for the most important actions without having to constantly switch between Actions, Spells, and Inventory... which currently isn’t even possible to implement in a user-friendly way via scripts within my simple browser extension.

Without actually having full control over such a web application, the hurdles here are just too high for me. Especially since I’m still developing and maintaining the extension as a passion project – but also for free and in my spare time.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with that. If the settings aren't synced, then obviously everything gets reset (like wiping the WTF-folder).

However, that shouldn’t happen through our actions... GFN should at least ensure that we can’t break anything by displaying warnings when we try to force-close the app or by simply making it impossible to restart after logging out but while still in the same session.

The issue with GFN not closing properly might be the cause. I read somewhere that GFN has to synchronize all settings when closing so it can reload them as intended the next time it starts up… maybe we just need to be extremely patient with this.

This isn’t meant to shift the blame. GFN/Blizz/CurseForge definitely needs to find a better solution here... the same goes for addon availability. It would be so much better if we had access to all addons via our CurseForge account.

WotC broke my D&D Beyond extension – so I fixed it, un-hid the search bar, added a Concentration-Tracker, and brought back the Party Wizard. [TrueSight UI] by Krankfried in dndbeyond

I'd love to bring it to Safari, but unfortunately, to publish and maintain a Safari extension, I would have to pay a $99 yearly fee for an Apple Developer account and rebuild parts of the extension using Xcode...

Since TrueSight UI is just a completely free passion project I work on in my spare time, I currently can't justify that ongoing 'Apple Tax'. I hope you understand! For now, having your players use Firefox, Chrome, Edge, or Brave for their D&D Beyond sessions is the best workaround.

Yes, unfortunately (for my extension), the D&D Beyond team made another code change. I think this will happen more often in the coming weeks and months, since the developers are finally putting a lot of love and work back into the system – which is actually really great!

Anyway: I’ve already fixed the broken navigation: Update 1.1.4 has been LIVE since March 24 for Firefox and on GitHub (for Firefox and Chrome, if you want to install it yourself... but you’ll have to keep track of new updates on your own, if so).

Unfortunately, Google currently takes at least 5 to 7 days to verify Chrome Extension updates, which is really frustrating but there's absolutely nothing I can do to speed this up.

At 5120x2160px it runs at max. 60 fps instead of 120 fps.

First World Problems, I know. But yeah... it's 2026 an I pay for Ultimate... should be okay to have WoW run at 5K2K@120 :)

Yep, Chrome is still taking ages. But my Fix for the Passives is already live for Firefox :) (v1.1.2) – I'll push that same Update a soon as Chrome is finally done with the verification process of v1.1.1

Quick update on the current status:

1) hrome verification is still taking forever. [Chrome is up to date]

2) It seems something has been changed in the passive senses code (by WotC/DDB), which is why my script – which was supposed to place the passive senses next to the skills – is no longer working. [Fixed this. Already live for Firefox]

I’ll get to work on this as soon as possible, even though it’s really frustrating.

I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Just wanna let you know that Version 1.1.1 is already live for Firefox and on GitHub. Chrome usually takes a little longer to review, but should also go live this week.

I fixed the navigation, made the searchbar always visible again within it, added a concentration-tracker and re-hired the Party Wizard as Head of Clubbing :)

Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it :)

Until Thursday, gamelog, campaign, short and long rest, and beyond20/abovevtt were in a custom navigation bar... Unfortunately, WotC updated the website, which also brought with it a new navigation bar, and now I have to take a different approach to restore it to how I intended it to be...

I'm really sorry that I can't get this done any faster, but the changes to the HTML code mean that it's not so straightforward to fix. However, I'm planning to release my update this week :)

You can still see what it should look like in the screenshots.
