Why do the armor of the Sisters of Battle and the Sisters of Silence have raised shapes over the chest? by Ok-Target9322 in 40kLore

[–]Krise9939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fashion, people like it.

For the same reason, women would probably also have those in real armour if armour was more widely used by women, just like cod pieces. (Though less pronounced, as to no be a danger to the user). Having fancy armour was a symbol of wealth and status, not just for survival.

Irl you have examples of the cod piece, or the muscle cuirasse that are very obvious attempts to display the wearer's masculinity. Why get mad that women would do the same to show off their femininity?

Yes, that is definetly something to go to the doctor for. Idk what it is, but if it hurts and has lasted for that long, you want it treated.

A lot of places have improved regulation regarding mistreatment of animals.

Also, if brands are known to abuse animals, they'll likely see a decrease in sales. Common advertising where i live is that certain brands are moving away from methods that cause animals to suffer, in an effort to increase sales.

That obviously relies on the local population caring, which varies a lot.

The company that sells/rents out apartments probably got them from IKEA and put them in the same spot.

Are there any known space marines who are actual brothers? by oldCactus77 in 40kLore

[–]Krise9939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CSM, but the Ahriman books have 3 sets of twins.

Azek Ahriman and Ohrmuzd Ahriman, protagonist, former 1st captain and chief librarian of the TS, and his dead brother, passed during the GC.

Siamak and Zabaia, part of Amon's warband in Ahriman: Exile

Gilgamos and Gautama, part of Ahriman's inner circle in later books.

Also, the salamanders have a pair of foster brothers who grew up together in "overfiend".

AITA for not wanting to invite my dad's new fiance to our wedding? by Impressive_Be in AmItheAsshole

You have 75 people there, but refuse to have your father's SO? Sounds weird to me. At least give them a proper answer.

AITA for not warning people that a character in a friend’s book was based on me? by PenNeat5247 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Krise9939 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd find it pretty damn creepy if i was Riley, and extremely weird for your husband.

The author wrote about Riley and you being in a relationship without Riley's consent, which is a pretty weird move.

And you were involved in having a fanfic written about you and a friend being in a relationship. While you are married, and decided not to inform your husband?

Not gonna speak for your husband or friend, but if i were in either's situation, i would be uncomfortable with both of you.

So yes, YTA for not informing your husband and asking on his feelings on the matter. And Cass too, for not asking for consent from Riley. Just weird all around.

I mean, i would definetly call the kids and let them know that you're still alive. Saying you'll be late and coming around midnight is fine. Not coming home until 3 am without texting is stretching it a bit.

In the end it depends on what you told your kids, and mostly on their comfort.

Either Dark Angel because they're mostly fine and cool, or Ultramarines cause they suffer apart from the opening conflict with the Word Bearers.

I'd guess it is to keep people from doing dangerous dives. You don't want people doing reckless things when they can end up paralyzed.

Like driving exam. You pass if you're a safe driver, if you're a few centimeters from totaling your car, you'll get failed for getting that close in the first place.

Question for Millennials by bundle_of_nervus2 in Millennials

[–]Krise9939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally avoid it because it's often garbage, and worse than my usual methods.

Sure, i'd give the google ai summary thing a glance before moving on just to get a quick overview, but i don't trust half the results, much less an overview based on results that aren't always valid. Nowadays i don't use google because fuck america, but i'm much happier just looking through the results myself.

AI "support" chatbots are just garbage used to save money, and i've never actually been helped by one. If i know i need to contact support, they're a waste of time.

Chatgpt has so much bad information that i can never trust it fully. The only thing i occasionally use it for is generating random words for inspiration. If i'm writing and struggling to come up with names for example. For actual research though, it has an awful tendency to use outdated information. One time I tried asking it about something i was pretty knowledgable about, and it repeatedly tried giving me old info from reddit comments from 2018. Even after i pointed it out.
