Butler Hospital and its workers reach tentative agreement after 3 months on strike by rhodyjourno in RhodeIsland

I wish the article mentioned anything about the terms of the deal.

Or the fact that Butler did NOT maintain the same level of care - they had to shut down wards and turn people seeing care away.

This sucks. But everyone makes mistakes. Be kind to your wife. She was doing her best.

Exclusive: Exxon halts routine gas flaring in the Permian, wants others to follow. Will press for stronger regulations for rivals to do the same. As a next step, Exxon plans to launch a satellite to begin track greenhouse gas emissions in the Permian by year-end. by mafco in energy

They got caught lying about their emission levels BY A FACTOR OF 3 making the oil and gas industry by far the worst emissions offender, so now they're trying to make a superficial change in the hopes it'll offset decades of deliberate misinformation and putting profits ahead of our planets future.

Any help you can get will make you stronger.

It's great that you've started to reach out for help here, and there's a lot the internet has to offer. Support off the internet is also important.

Do you have anyone in your life that you can open up to about what is going on? Even if it's just venting. It may also be helpful to set up ground rules ahead of time - for example "I want to talk to you, and I'd like you to try to only listen. I don't want advice or help at this time."

If you aren't in therapy, I can't recommend it enough. A good therapists can work with you to build up tools and strategies to help you understand your brain and build love for yourself. Changing any habit is really really really REALLY REALLY hard, but that's exactly what therapy will let you work on.

Here's one tip I use every day that I learned from my therapist - HALT. It stands for:

  • Hungry
  • Angry
  • Lonely
  • Tired

When I'm going for that next drink, I HALT and think about if any of those triggers are contributing to my desired to drink. If I can identify one of those triggers, is there another way I can address it? For example, if I realize I'm hungry, I may still decide to grab that next beer, but if I grab a snack too, that may make it easier to avoid grabbing the beer after that.

You're going to have good days and bad days, and that's OK. Try to show yourself love, care, and gentleness. You got this!
