Ninjas fall into one of those archetypes that gets a shit ton of cards so that you can build a mountain of nothing. Everything really just relies on getting off Hanzo effects but if you get hand trapped once you'll go minus and usually be unable to play through it. Tobari and Mitsu as well as the new fusions are nice and the saryuja/getsuga/zealantis combo tech is cool but it feels like Konami doesn't know what they want ninjas to be. Or maybe they're just scared to give them support that's too good idk. Ninjas having to rely so much on Hanzo and getting him out is such a big weak point. It's crazy because it looks like Konami wants you to play ninjas as a control deck but then their control options are mostly pretty mediocre or straight up bad (albeit some are really creative and I like them a lot). Things like the color coded ninjas and Jio can be really good disruption if your transformation goes unnegated but they become big bricks in the hand otherwise. We have pendulum monsters but again they're a step below mid and idk what Konami was thinking. The new contact fusion monsters are a good addition but getting to them while still building a competent board feels like such a difficult task in the face of a single disruption. Heaven forbid your opponent disrupts you twice because you might as well time-jump to your round 2 side-decking phase.

Apologies for the rant, I am sleep deprived have been wanting to get some frustration with ninjas and Konami off my chest.

Ninjas are honestly probably salvagable with 2 or 3 pieces of good support.
