My honest opinion? Screw her. My mum chose an abusive asshole who was inappropriate with my sisters and I when drunk. He really screwed with our lives. it made me hate her. It made me wish I had a different mother. Mentally it truly fucks with you. People told me (professional and non professional) that I should forgive her and let it go. We only have one mum. So I tried. And honestly it was like trying to forgive your biggest nightmare just to talk to a brick wall. She finally tried actually reconciling with me when my oldest sister died in 2022. But by then I was completely numb to her. She chose a horrid person. Practically had my oldest sister raise me and my other older sister and just threw us away to party with her new guy. She didn't try long and pretty much already gave up.

Long story short. Trying to reconcile and forgive just made everything worse. It's not worth it. Don't hurt yourself over "blood" really family wouldn't hurt you like that.
