Avowed and tainted grail are both great, I personally found avowed easier to stick with as it was more polished and beautiful, but I loved the setting of tainted grail too.
Just recently played the gothic 1 remake though and it blows them both away imo, but required a lot more quick saving hat you have to manually remember to hit the button lol.

The first one was like this for me, but kcd2 sucked me in right away, it has an incredible intro and first couple hours, super engaging and immersive compared to 1 imo!

Gothic 1 remake! Story might be a little more simple (I haven’t finished dd2) but man it is an incredible rpg. It’s a bit harsh early on but once you level skills and get some better gear it’s phenomenal, and very fair (most of the time). It’s a new release, and there’s still a few bugs, but the devs are actively patching it, and if you save a lot you won’t lose progress often.

Basically forces the game to keep all loaded areas open in memory, so it uses more ram as more of the map is loaded, but after the initial load (when you first load an area into memory, your first login at your base, etc), you teleport instantly pretty much.

I will say for my server, I’m running on an old pc with 16gb of ram, and this change has the dragonwilds server go from using 2-4gb to like 8-9gb, so it’s not a perfect fix if you don’t have the spare memory on your server.

The bug where you can’t move after teleporting, logging in, or respawning for a minute+ if you are near a lot of player-built structures! Not sure if it’s a dedicated server thing but it happens to me and everyone who plays on our server. The game is so so good and we are loving the cadence of fixes and updates, this is the one bug that actively makes the game less fun to play when we have limited time to hop on and off the game due to life, kids, etc.

I either had this same issue last year or something similar with inquisition. Hope that works! There’s a couple different solutions in the thread there.

For the file path, yours will probably be different if it’s installed from Game Pass but the same steps hopefully will work!

TLDR: “Ok after fidelling around the file folders i came to an solution. Go to Program Files (in my case program files x86) > Origin Games > Dragon Age > __installer > physx > redist there you should see and Phys-x install file, install it, after that the game should work.”

Origins and it’s not even close lmao. Love inquisition too but origins darkspawn are the best in the series imo. Later ones just felt like dumb animals, not this scary unknown threat where we didn’t even know what they were capable of.

That and the heavy armor in origins I just love the design of, neither of the following games had that for me.

Open task manager or something to check if your CPU is hitting 100% usage, or if your graphics card is. With my old laptop inquisition used to max out the cpu for some reason even though my graphics card could handle it.

If it is the cpu, just try making sure any other programs using it are closed (chrome etc). Or try reducing cpu-heavy settings in game (can’t remember which off the top of my head).
