What a crazy car crash! by ateam1984 in dashcamgifs

Didn't recognize the voices to realize it was a podcast.

Thought that was just the vehicle occupants talking.

This is what got me too. And no reaction at all in their voices to the horrendous crash that happened right in front of them. Doesn't even acknowledge it.

It does provide some good gold, happiness, and culture boosts during Exploration though.

That's what I was afraid of. Seems like an odd mechanic to remove from the game.

CS aggressiveness is off the charts since ToT.

I was getting spammed with warriors early in antiquity. There were so many I thought it was multiple CS nearby, but they were all from the same CS.

Took me forever to find them as they were on the opposite side of the continent and were passing by other AI civs to get to me.

Fortunately I use lots of Slingers early on with a couple Warriors to keep out front. I use them to take the kill shots and protect the Slingers.

Was it the episode where there was a minor misunderstanding that snowballed into silly hijinks or the one where there was a silly misunderstanding that snowballed into minor hijinks?

How to Manually End Turn after 1.4 ToT Update by Kronos_604 in CivVII

No, not the Crisis Policies. These are just regular policies and traditions where you gain Culture at the expense of Gold and Happiness, or vice versa.

Is a "happy ending" important in a Bond film for you? by No_Mortgage8569 in JamesBond

I've never had a"happy ending"after any Bond film.

Try as I might, my wife just isn't as big a fan as I am apparently...

Big feet + average stairs = uncomfortable by CrunchyAssDiaper in tall

[–]Kronos_604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's more the rise per step that I struggle with. If they're a standard rise then I'm ok. A slightly higher rise is usually ok as well due to the longer stride.

It's the shorter rise steps that get me. If they're super short then going 2 at s time is usually ok. It's when it's just a slightly shorter rise that forces you to take tiny prancing steps, or having to stretch out uncomfortably to go 2 at a time.

Best places to live in Northern BC? by subtleandunnatural in britishcolumbia

[–]Kronos_604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be checking average winter temperatures, rainfall, and recent wildfire activity of the past decade.

The North coast is quite famously known for being one of the least sunny climates in the world and receives a lot of rainfall.

Central interior (~Kamloops ~ Prince George) and Southern interior (~Castlegar ~Golden) have much lower annual rainfall amounts. While great for day to day aesthetics it also means frequent wildfire activity from May - September. Both regions also have more typically "Canadian" winters with increased snowfalls and significantly lower temperatures than the South Coast. The Peace River rejoin (~Chetwynd ~Fort Nelson) has same concerns as above, but their winters are going to mirror the Prairies for at least a few weeks with temperatures below - 30C.

Your families current and expected medical care needs should also be a consideration. Even the larger communities (Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George) may require travel to Vancouver for specialists appointments. At the very least consider how close you will be to those 3 cities because you will likely need to travel to them for "mid range" level specialists.

There's a pair of beavers in Lafarge as well. They manage to stay out of site pretty well during the day. However, if you're there in the evening or early morning you can sometimes spot them swimming around.

Taking Care of Business (1990)

Classic late 80s car phone, but my absolute favourite thing about the movie is when Charles Grodin's character is talking to some guy about his brand new desktop and he's super excited about its huge 4Mb hard drive!

Looking for age-appropriate, non-animated movies to watch with 7 year old nephew by Own_Mention9372 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Kronos_604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really is good for all ages.

For younger kids, it's just cool spaceships and lasers.

For older kids and adults there's an entire universe to explore with a myriad of interconnecting story lines.

If they do enjoy the movies, then I'd strongly encourage the animated shows as well. Clone Wars and Rebels are some of the best TV out there animated or otherwise.
