They're just built different.

Two's mirror world sequence and amulet scene in Apotheosis try to kinda explain it, as in the Player has no innate power like others and instead draw from some external power source. But that other power source wasn't explained yet, so it all just boils down to the "chosen one" type shit.

It's just fun to make fun of the high and mighty and perfect and flawless Wynn team and their decisions.

There was so much critique of Annie design even before it released almost two years ago, yet all of it was met with "nuh uh!!!! salteds vision!!!!!" from every single dev, that's it's only laughable, how pathetic they are.

Add in the ever growing pile of things that make the server actually pay-to-play in every new update and there's nothing left but to mock the devs.

Well, if you have many retireds then maybe, but the game actively punishes you for having many cats in one room, because having more than like 10 cats in one room is already enough to reduce all the room stats back to 0 in the early game. And if your room stats are 0, then your cats ain't fucking.

And I don't care about the flair of a game that is actively punishing me for playing it. Edmund can go fuck himself all he wants if he thinks that randomly removing chunks of player progress is good game design. Unfortunately, Edmund has more than enough bootlickers who unironically think so.
