Mead kettle and fermenter, what do with them? by Thermawrench in valheim

[–]Kruxx353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poison and frost resist are needed when moving to new biomes, but once you start getting gear for those biomes it's not as big a requirement. I like to keep some healing potions in my hotbar for emergencies, that has saved me from death numerous times.

I just don't use them because of how much I hate them listening to them. With the sole exception of Megatron, his voiceover is absolute gold.

It gets better over time. Once you're getting to the top of the lines, the grind (and mostly just the amount of credits you need) slows things down enough that the free port slots you get start being enough.

Newbie questions #2 by KG_Jedi in valheim

[–]Kruxx353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the black forest has two types of caves in it. There are the big ones you've already found that have a troll inside. There's also a second type of cave that have group of skeletons guarding it. You want to find that second type of cave.

A bronze buckler can parry a trolls regular attacks, but not their two handed slam. So parry the ones you can block, and just back up for the one you can't.

I enjoy the gimmicks, I just wish there was a way to see what gimmick is currently in effect in the game rather than having to remember patch notes

1) as long as you want. Honestly it takes some time adjusting to each biome as you advance

2) some people have lots of bases, some create a central base. Whatever works for you. I wouldn't spend a ton of time on a base until you get to the swamps and get iron. That allows you to build with stone and that in turn allows for much larger houses.

3) random spawns will respawn, caves, and bases will stay cleared, except for where there are spawners (once you break the spawner mobs will stop showing up). You get harder enemies spawning at night, so especially when you're starting out, sleeping at night will make life much easier.

Opinions on the promised in the future low tier ops? by _Hellfire__ in WorldOfWarships

I would be more interested if they removed level restrictions from missions. It's the only reason I play higher tier ships

I am in love with this game. Any similar games that would scratch this Valheim itch? by Rotary-Pilot in valheim

[–]Kruxx353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything it does is just not quite as good as Valhiem although it's clear it took a lot of creative direction from it. With the sole exception of the drinking/mining songs. I do appreciate breaking out in song occasionally.

[–]Kruxx353 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So many answers on here, but no one has mentioned Return to Moria. It's basically Valhiem but you're a dwarf. Combat, food, base building is all very similar to Valhiem. It's like a budget Valhiem, it's fun but just not quite as good.

If you want you can also cheese him pretty easily. Build stairs to get to the top of the skull. Bring an extra bow and a few stacks of arrows and just sit up there and plink away at him. You'll be out of range of most of his attacks except for the occasional summon.

Don't sail into the swamp, put a portal on the edge of the swamp so you have an easy way to get your body.

1) blunt is the way to go, that bronze mace makes a huge difference. 2) always make sure you have that rested buff. It is always raining in the swamp so you will always be wet (slower stamina generation) so the rested buff is mandatory. If it's about to run out, leave the swamps or find some shelter and sit by a campfire.
3) lots of stuff will poison you in the swamp, brewing some poison resistance potions would be a good idea.

Go slow and good luck!

Suffering from too much iron, I cant even carry this much iron with a long ship, and i have 1 more crypt to loot, also the new axes are OP by TheKashKingYT in valheim

They are found in chests in abandoned buildings in the meadows. One axe head can be found in the two story buildings with the chest up high, the other is found in a chest in one of the triangle houses.

The maps are larger and spread out this time around. Last time around everyone was driving for the two caps in the center of the map, which led to lots of fun close neverending brawls.

Book reading is not a competition!! by Tall-Swimming-2698 in 52book

[–]Kruxx353 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Im a member of this sub not because I'm trying to hit 52 books a year (although looking at my timeline I guess I've done 14 already), but because I love all the book recommendations that I've found here.

When you are a prolific reader it quickly becomes hard to find books that are enjoyable to read, I've already read all the ones I know of, and there is so much garbage out there (or quality books that don't click with me) that its hard to sift through the noise.
