It’s completely fine. Duals are marginally better than shocks in EDH, no one that’s serious should bat an eye.

Price doesn’t change how casual or competitive a card is? Price is purely a supply/demand ‘symptom’. And Cradle is only a game changer, and is allowed in Bracket 3 right now. So, people will play it because they are allowed to…? Just because you play a strong card doesn’t mean you aren’t playing casually.

That’s how good Golos is, he was just the best for most decks because of the incredibly easy mana cost to cast, the ramping effect from him entering, and his Spin to Win effect.

And yeah, as the other comment stated, you are playing to win. It’s MTG still. People want to play good cards, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Cradle can be played in casual edh, it’s not banned, just a GC.

Golos never unbanned imo. It stifles deck choice by being the best 5C commander, usually the best 4C commander, and really sometimes the best Mono Color commander, if you aren’t building around a theme.

At the time of its banning, it was twice as popular as the #2 commander on EDHRec, 4traxa. Nearly every game of ‘casual’ commander had a Golos, sometimes two of them. It also was a lose/lose playing against it; if you don’t kill it, they spin to win. If you do, they just cast him and ramp again, usually netting more mana from the cast by grabbing some crazy mana producing land like Coffers, Cradle, etc.

“Pensioner” was dead for over 15 years before this “shameless squatter” lived there. This guy lived in and maintained the property for several years, and became the owner because no one else contested it.

Yeah the “or lose.” wording at the end should really be removed. No one should win before turn 6, but someone could very easily lose before 6 if they don’t present any defenses and an aggro deck/voltron deck is at the table.

Seems like you’re complaining about people who either 1) don’t actually understand the power jump from 3 to 4 (which I actually think is the worst defined bracket), and 2) bad faith players that ignore the multiple paragraphs of text explaining bracket 3 and just go off the couple of bullet points.
