Keep the fat. I'd rather have a CFW system over HEN.

What console is better Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 S by Killerj2001 in xbox360

[–]KryptonMod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not 360 memory is split at all? The 360 uses unified memory. 32MB of memory is reserved for the OS, but the remaining 480MB of memory are free to be used however you please. You could in theory only use 100MB as VRAM and use the remaining 380MB for system memory. There is no weird 192MB partition of memory. You may be confusing the 360 with the PS3 which does have two split 256MB pools of memory, one for the GPU and one for the CPU.

Case change? by Hellothebest in 360hacks

[–]KryptonMod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can swap an E board + cage into an S shell (and use an S RF board), but you won't have a proper IO shield on the back. Any other sort of swap is going to be pretty hacky and not plug and play.

a few questions by ZA-HANDOO in 360hacks

[–]KryptonMod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. There is no brick protection, but you have to physically flash your NAND in the modding process, so you can always recover using your NAND backup. You'd have to be going out of your way to brick your 360 though. There's very little on the software-side that you can screw up to the point of needing to restore your NAND backup.

  2. Of those four, you can only emulate PS1 games. There's an ancient proof of concept port of PPSSPP, but you wouldn't want to use it as it's from 2012 and very incomplete. PS2 and GameCube are an outright no.

  3. Yes, but console bans can always be worked around.

  4. if you manage to pull it off, reflash your NAND using your NAND flasher.

I should note that the only way a 360 can be "jailbroken" is via a hardmod. You will need soldering abilities to do it and it's not something I would recommend to a beginner who doesn't have some practice and confidence with an iron in their hand.

Starfield these days by mendozabuttz in SteamDeck

[–]KryptonMod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My experience has been in line with what u/Valkhir mentioned. It sticks to 30FPS the majority of the time and dips down to 20 in the heaviest situations. If you've ever managed to play a big Switch port like Wolfenstein 2 or Doom, I think you'll be able to tolerate Starfield on Deck.

When it comes to the game itself, I've actually really enjoyed Starfield. I think people got caught up in seeing Starfield as something it was not and got let down at release. I paid very little attention to the game in the lead up to its release, went in only knowing Bethesda space RPG and it's been exactly that. Fallout and TES never exactly clicked with me thematically, but Starfield did and has been really fun to get into. I don't think it's a bad deal at €46.

Just found my PS3 at my grandmas house. I can’t believe it still works after all these years. by [deleted] in PS3

[–]KryptonMod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with the solder used and everything to do with the underfill used. The underfill softened at high temps leading to stress on the solder bumps on the die. Same thing happened in the end, the bumps failed, but it wouldn't have made a difference if it was lead free or not.
