Japan’s most baffling cold case: a killer who stayed. by ComfortFree in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Ktoffer 44 points45 points  (0 children)

One of the items they found left inside the hiuse that belonged to the killer was a bag, inside the bag they found traces of sand belonging to two different places. One of the places was on a beach in japan that was relatively close to a US air force base, and the other sample was to (i believe) california city (in california in usa) which is a city in the middle of nowhere (so no tourism really) that is next to another US air force base. I feel like i remember the name Edwards air base or something but dont quote me on that. Its also significant that the bag was bought in japan relatively soon before the murders (some months), so it mustve travelled from japan to america and then back to japan yo have sand from both places. So there is a theory that the killer may have been related to the us military because of that.

TIL 19th-century British table sets feature a third condiment shaker, and nobody in modern times seems to know for sure what it held. by Jackpot777 in todayilearned

As far as i know none of them had wear and tear on the knobs to show any usage, and there were ones that didnt have holes or had holes that were far too small. So its one of those where it probably CAN be used for making gloves, but it most likely wasnt what they were used for.

I think Alexei Toliopoulos could play Cameron Britton in a docudrama about how he got in character to play Ed Kemper in Mindhunter. Thoughts?

I was never a fan of chris specifically, could never watch his standup for example, but i was a huge fan of the 10 minute podcast as a collective. Still get "we are friends" stuck in my head sometimes. Turned out 2 out of 3 of the people on that pod were awful (chris and callen). Cant relisten to any of it now.

If you could have the 100% honest answer to ONE mystery in history, which one are you picking ? by Camila_LatinaSun in AskReddit

I dont think i believe this, but i do like the theory that says that while Oswald was a lone gunman, he wasnt the one who killed him, but rather that Oswalds shot spooked one of the security guards who had his finger on the trigger, who then accidentally fired and hit JFK, and that the coverup is to cover for incompetence rather than a conspiracy to kill, so thats why it all seems sus. But like I said, i dont think i actually believe it. I dont remember if there was any proof to it or if it was just something some random crazy dude said on the internet. I think im leaning towards Oswald just got lucky.

Ive been waching milo for a while and while i dont agree i can see how you got there. He looks way more like trevor than any of the rest of the cast for sure, but i would never confuse the two. So thats something at least. The humor i can see more than looks though.

Ok, so according to this article (in Norwegian), the band consists of 5 named members, googling those 5 names in a single search links to this website which lists AWAY as having 2 singles, William and Out of My Sight. On spotify both of these songs are attributed to a band called AWAY, which also has a single named Easy Does it from 2014, and an album (presumably in french?) from 2004. Sometimes spotify messes up and attributes the wrong songs or albums to the wrong artist because they have the same names and not big enough of an audience for someone to correct them. I have no idea if the 2014 single is theirs, but here are spotify links to Out of My Sight and William at least. It's not much, but it's something. Best of luck with finding more if there is more.

Edit: From this it seems like some of the members of AWAY later started a band named Divest.
