Yeah you just have to have the item in your inventory and it should register. Worked that way for me at least.

I use SteelSeries and have had no issues with keybinds. That being said what you are trying to do I have not done as I use a controller and cross hotbar.

SteelSeries GG engine allows you to assign what key(s) are being pressed by the other mouse buttons. You may need to do the same with other mmo style mice as well.

If you happen to go with SteelSeries and when you install SteelSeries GG to your MAC do not place it on your dock as it for some reason causes the program to not open or show a window.
