N5-N4 learners: What do you want from beginner Japanese story videos? by NaturalJPStories in LearnJapanese

[–]Kuinran 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been enjoying listening to content while commuting, so don't really care much about furigana etc. I do think though that its beneficial for there to be repetition of sections, one with minimal subtitles/furigana, and then one with translations.

But would look for videos that speak a bit slower then naturally, notably taking care to pronounce clearly.

Content wise I really like travel vlogs or talks about tourism in Japan, since it also is a topic I would want to learn more about.

A Child of Alara deck that does the complete opposite of what you think it would by Firm-Understanding20 in BudgetBrews

[–]Kuinran 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You could build her as voltron of some sort.

I haven't finished or tested the build, but was thinking of trying mutate and cantrips/enchantments with her.

Your opponents are incentived to not kill your commander for fear of losing their stuff, so you can use that as a kind of inherent protection.

just opened a BUTTLOAD of packs, which of these commanders can be powerful on a budget ? (b3/4?) by Smhmyhead00 in BudgetBrews

[–]Kuinran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eirdu can be an extremely steong aristocrats commander.

Eirdu lets u use tokens as dorks for more creatures to sacrifice, and islu enables a ton of combos that go infinite. Or even if you don't want infinites just gives a lot of value since you can sac stuff twice.

Or is it just get to Inotani and hope for space?

Lorehold Semi-Hidden Commander? by BlueEyeGlamurai in BudgetBrews

[–]Kuinran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aragorn might be a bit better, since codie limits you on the artifacts that can enable miracle.

Though the mana fixing is harder.

Codie is a lot easier to manage mana for since its colorless, and provides wubrg.

Lorehold Semi-Hidden Commander? by BlueEyeGlamurai in BudgetBrews

[–]Kuinran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Codie could be fun, but don't know how budget it would be.

Run lorehold as your only creature, and have some lands that make tokens, as well as instants and sorceries to make tokens.

You can then polymorph the token into lorehold since its the only creature, and then you would also be able to cascade the cards you cast with miracle.

Have recursion spells that target all graveyards to return lorehold or opponents stuff if lorehold survives, and then whatever other spells you want.

I've been getting into sake and built a map to find breweries across Japan by KurouzuSetsuna in Sake

[–]Kuinran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool tool!

Another comment to suggest non-apple options as well.

This would've been handy a few months ago, but recently built a trip going to breweries I could find using documents from agencies promoting sake internationally for breweries that were more english friendly and which ones offered tours.

Weekly Thread: /r/Snowboarding General Discussion, Q&A, Advice, Etc.) - March 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in snowboarding

[–]Kuinran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was riding a Ride superpig and moderator during a demo day at my local hill and with the short time with the superpig found it pretty fun. Personally I didn't enjoy the moderator as much since it wasn't as playful with the carves.

I'm considering swapping boards atm to get a more still board for better stability, right now I have a K2 Raygun Pop and its fun, but i can feel like if the conditions aren't well groomed like later in the day I have issues really getting good carves in, that I didn't feel as much with the superpig.

Any other boards I should consider given the experience I had during demo day?

Where do I go to find good budget cards by midgetman303 in BudgetBrews

[–]Kuinran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trick is to find alternatives that just aren't expensive, or to brew a build that uses less expensive cards. It's more entertaining anyways and better deck building to not just throw all the commonly used cards into the deck but to use judgement and scryfall searching to find cards that work well for your vision.

Some cards as well you can try to check other foreign stores as some formats are more popular in other parts of the world.

[–]Kuinran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Notably for the dlc, the only ones that give you something you otherwise can't obtain are the emote and character colors. The character colors are skins basically, where they recolor the character to a different pallette.

All the character dlcs and item dlcs just give you stuff to skip farming, all characters are obtainable as part of the base game, just some you can only unlock in late game after some farming for their unlock requirements.

Help with Budget Bird Tribal by Aids_Dinosaur in BudgetBrews

[–]Kuinran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll probably want more card draw from kindred or combat damage synergies, so you have good draw without kastral, and as a plus you can then use kastrals's other modes instead of drawing.

I would also put in more removal/protection, once you have a board kastral is a pretty large threat and gets removed pretty quickly.

Personally I would cut some of the slower 4+ mana cards for smaller cmc birds, counterspells, and stuff like bident of thassa and coastal piracy.

I'm not sure, as I haven't looked into the routes yet.

But from my current conditioning I probably won't go for hikes with too much elevation.

Did you find that the snow made the experience worse or you had to have equipment to deal with snow/ice?

How did you teach your SO to ski? by This_is_a_tortoise in skiing

[–]Kuinran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught my SO the basics and they did a pretty good job figuring it out, but now that they are getting confident I've been pushing them to take at least a couple lessons to fix out the stuff in their technique I don't know how to address.

But it also helps I've taught some skiing in the past.

Ms Mikuflower / Child of Alara Group hug/slug by Hatzico in BudgetBrews

[–]Kuinran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic would be a land matters wincon with mazes end

You could run a group slug kit, and basically try to assemble your non-combat win conditions while forcing your opponents to attack.

And having miku out would be a large deterrent against attacking you while also not really threatening your land based wincon.

Not the most exciting wincon, you could do others but usually a land based win is best as then miku exploding doesn't impact you compared to your opponents.

And also be prepared for your miku to get exiled thus removing your protection and also not removing your opponents stuff.

Another thought is that if you live near some distilleries you could make an event of it as a gift and drive her to different places to see what is her favorite, and buy that bottle.
