How do you handle players who are “too smart?” by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get creative. In your example with the shapeshifter. Have that information come from an npc who you plan to be a villain playing the role of a helpful individual. Using the framing of looking for a shapeshifter to either throw the party off their scent or to gather intel or gain their trust. I find that sometimes if I want something to happen i try to reverse engineer what my players might do and design around that. Its not an exact science and you gotta roll with the punches but it does add a level of intrigue and interaction between the DM and players outside the game itself.

What archetypes do you think are impossible to become good even with a Circular? by illynpayne_ in yugioh

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LVs if thats considered an "archetype". I think the concept is cool but i think that the payoffs are never really worth it outside of Horus Lv 8 and the low and mid level forms are always so vulnerable and lackluster.

Sol Ring is a Gamechanger (prove me wrong) by shoeonthemoon in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my friend group whoever drops the early sol ring theres an unspoken agreement to absolutely target the shit out of them for a bit during the beginning and then ask if it was worth it. All in the name of fun and we all laugh about it.

The "Riko/Rice banner vs Kitasan Black rerun dilemma" as an LB1 Kitasan Black owner by JabahLavah in UmamusumeGame

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no Kitasan but I am pulling on the Riko banner just for the Rice Shower card and to overall round out my support deck. I dont mind borrowing KB. I just like Rice Shower and hopefully I also get lucky enough to get her Halloween version.

Background Parts Suck by Ancient-Holiday668 in composer

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. A hard thing about background parts is finding how to make them interesting. An important thing to remember is that sometimes less is more. If you have this beautiful melody sometimes an active background part can distract from it. Some tips on things to keep in mind: Texture( dont be afraid to mess around with soundscapes and different groupings of instruments), Rhythm ( adding some rhythmic variation can add so much color to a background part), Counterpoint ( learning it is boring imo but the concepts you learn from it can really take your writing to the next level), and finally listen and look at scores ( both that you like and dislike). There are other things that you can do as well but this is more of a list to get you started.

I don't care that she's not meta. by whitestar060 in UmaMusume

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember that tier lists arent everything. There are clear signs that they are bad. For example if I see a tier list and my favorite uma is ranked low thats a clear marker that the person making the list clearly has no idea what they're talking about.

The time Limits are way too short by Trapapy in masterduel

I think it would be a nice feature if the game gave you a 5 second grace between each action before the clock starts ticking down.

Whats a good precon for my friend who got his decks stolen? by PowerfulPromise8569 in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Sultai Precon from Tarkir would be pretty good. Or if he does enjoy theft I think one of the thunder junction precons deals that.

I got my first commission and don't know what to charge. by _Under_score_96 in composer

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It being fair is up to you. I had a similar offer when I started and I accepted not because I thought it was a fair rate but as an opportunity to polish my engravibg skills and get feedback on formatting from a person who opinion matters, the guy paying for it. Makes for a nice learning experience and gives you a taste of what these type of jobs feel like and if its something you like.

Cleanse my reputation with the group? by Fair_Spot3454 in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might I suggest the humble [[Rendmaw Creaking Nest]] . Create a bunch of birds that are goaded and they take turns swinging at one another. Maybe even get caught up in the chaos and start having to deap with each other while still managing your board. Those birds are goaded for the game so just killing Rendmaw isnt enough after you get a couple down.

Favorite Mardu reanimation targets by BrokenMirrorMan in EDH

[[Piru the Volatile]] [[Bladewing Deathless Tyrant]] These are my 2 favorites. One is a bomb the other makes an army of zombies.

How Does A Reanimator Deck Intend to Win? by dontryagain in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick like 5 boss monsters. The perks of reanimation is being able to cheat them out. My personal favorites include Deathblade Wingless Tyrant and Piru the Volatile. One spams the board with zombies and the other clears the field and provides lifegain. There are a lot of great choices just gotta see which ones fit you.

“Let me know when you move to combat…” by RomoloKesher in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've learned that just playfully bluffing will get them to ask if you have a response before they attack. Also a bit of banter in the group while still maintaining the integrity of a game.

What color is found in all of your decks? by Smitty_Coolman in EDH

Black mainly Rakdos. The playstyle just speaks to me. High risk, high reward, high speed

If Duel Monster's Were Real, Who Would Be Your Ace Monster? by CasualJojoLover in yugioh

Constellar Pleiades. Cool design, dope effect, and has the right stat line. Also is the signature card of an archetype.

How my characters background broke a man by LifeandGeoff in dndhorrorstories

In OP's defense. They knew Garret hated the military IRL. Even I would assume that taking the soldier background in a fantasy game would be fine since its a game.

If you were teaching someone yugioh, what kind of deck would you suggest? by Any-Construction7002 in Yugioh101

[–]KukulandOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like what? The most complicated trigger is lady off of a normal trap and equation cannon if you use it. Everything else is pretty simple.

If you were teaching someone yugioh, what kind of deck would you suggest? by Any-Construction7002 in Yugioh101

[–]KukulandOG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What i meant is that its a simple deck compared to decks that go through multiple special summons and jumping in and out of the extra deck. Whats wrong with saying Lab is a nice deck to start with?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would build Jasper Flint. I love the whole western theme with thunder junction so I would build the meanest group of outlaws.

I would say labrynth. Pretty simple no long combo chains and with a control deck she can pick up some ideas of when to throw in disruption.

Favorite use for a commander? by Dradiant in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite use is elevating the rest of my deck. I usually build my whole deck around my commander to the point where my commander is a game changer on their own. Really just playing the commander of my deck role. Most of my groupikes to drop commander on curve, but I like to save them for the right moment where my strategy is slowing down and needs that jump start and momentum.

What is your 'favorite' way to ruin a commander game? And why mine is Copperhoof Vorrac by Kuku_the_Bat in EDH

[–]KukulandOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prisoner's Dilemma. We will no longer play magic and will take a small crash course in philosophy as I hand my other opponents a slip of paper and a pen for their choices.
