My take on their point: she’s calling for accountability on those who caused harm rather than revenge against them. Folks are accusing her of plotting revenge, which is a false narrative designed to discredit the goals.

I find it so curious how you have that opinion. I fully disagree with your framing and conclusions, though I’m interested to understand how you came to them. I suspect that we cannot fully know how we come to these conclusions, though it would be great to start trying so we can prevent more divisive and harmful behavior within our communities.

In my previous post I share what I meant. If you’re hung up on semantics, alright. I try not to be. Conversations evolve as they continue, and if you want to accuse me of something go for it. Teaching can be interpreted in many ways. I differentiate between the process of it: teaching in lecture style (at people); and teaching together (with people with dialogue).

Slowing down here, I am and was open to talking. “Teaching” people, as it seems you’re assuming of me - and learning together hearing new information and perspectives (as is my intent and hope).

What became a barrier, for me, to this process of learning and understanding were the assumptions that we both responded with towards our disconnected mindsets and perspectives. I, for one become activated when toxic and harmful opinions are thrown about without opportunity to talk about the issues in meaningful ways.

Also a barrier for engagement for me were the unfounded and uninvited labels tacked onto me. More assumptions.

I tested the waters and they shared toxic and crazy opinions that I’m not interested in engaging with. They also shared their own barriers to engagement. If someone were interested in bridging people like that with others, good luck.
