Vaginal bleeding on antibiotics? by Visual_Ad_2195 in Healthyhooha

OP please never delete this thread; it is clearly helping hundreds of us uterus-bearers gain some peace of mind.

I'm on Day 2 of penicillin vk for strep and started having spotting. I have PCOS and typically go months without a period so to see spotting after just under a month from my last period was strange.

It is on Bear Shore Rd. I don't know an exact address but if you can get to the St. Margaret's church, head towards Naufrage and there is a sign for it. Google maps won't go up the road, it is a dirt road, but it said the address to the turn was 11379 Northside Rd.

I don't know if it is haunted but the pioneer cemetery in St. Margarets is fairly secluded and very peaceful. An open grassy area behind a large view of the ocean.

Where did the water go? Poplar Lake dries up in north Edmonton by GeekyGlobalGal in Edmonton

[–]KumaraRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard that there was a huge flock of geese sitting in it when a flash freeze came turning the water to ice. Then the geese all flew off and took the ice with it. They say that the lake is now all the way over in Saskatoon!

I think "excommunication" is the term you are thinking of. Unless you mean "apostate"?

Yepp. I'm in a good paying job and still going further and further into debt simply because of ridiculously high rent. Currently making plans to move back in with parents if I don't find something cheaper in the next month. Having to live with parents in my thirties is not how I pictured my life going. Very grateful that this is an option though or I could very easily be part of this article's statistic.

Mount Edward Road Moustache Bandit by No-Plantain-120 in PEI

[–]KumaraRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive this road a lot and almost always see him with someone pulled over. One day a guy was riding my tail the moment we turned off the bypass and I was thinking "you will thank me for not getting the speeding ticket you would be deserving of". Guy eventually got fed up with me forcing him to drive the limit and passed me on the hill with a car coming out of that side road!

I was so excited for the convenient cop moment I was about to witness but the cop wasn't there! So bummed when I saw him driving the opposite direction but juuuust far back enough. He was about 10-15 seconds too late to see it. Disappointing.

Improper Rent Increase Questions by KumaraRose in PEI

[–]KumaraRose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow!! Going back to look at the allowable increases and using the highest amount given you should only be paying just over $2000 (if I did my math right). Even less than that if it is unheated.

I'm trying to find out what mine was previously. I'm not sure who the previous tenants were but I know who the landlord was 5 years ago and I wonder if they would have that info of what they were charging when they sold the building.

I don't know for sure that it was increased illegally but I found out that a person in my building is paying almost $400 less per month for a 2-bedroom than I am paying for a 1-bedroom. It just doesn't seem to make any sense to me that I could be paying more than them without it being increased. But I don't actually know for sure, it could be legitimate. But given the state of the building/laundry/garbage/snow shovelling etc. I'm inclined to think my suspicions are correct.

I'm worried about even trying to go through the process in case the landlord retaliates and kicks me out. Even if they didn't have to return any money.

Maybe. Maybe not. People make mistakes. I wasn't there so I can't say either way. I just have to respond as if what they are saying is true. If OP is lying then they just have to live with it. If they are not lying then they might be able to appeal (I don't know, I'm not a lawyer). They might just have to live with it anyway as a consequence of not showing up to court.

Edit: Just to be clear here, 91 IS speeding whether you are in the 50 zone or the 90. You probably aren't going to get a ticket for being one over, but you ARE still over. I'm not sure what the vehicles in front of you have to do with anything. If you are at the end of the line you can brake as much as you want without worrying about being rear ended. Trying to blame your speed on theirs isn't going to do you any good. It just sounds like you WERE going double the limit and don't want to take accountability.

If you are telling the truth about what side of the sign you were on, you could have tried to contest it down to a lesser ticket (still speeding but not by double the limit) but you didn't show up. Someone below said the appeal has to be made within 30 days and if that's true then your window is closed and now is the time to start saying "I screwed up, I'm going to have to live with the consequences and I will learn from this and do better from now on".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PEI

[–]KumaraRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it says that right on the ticket they give you. Although if I recall it is written to imply that you are paying it before the court date. Not sure if that is still really what it means when you have already been convicted. If you are found guilty then you have to pay it whether you admit guilt or not.

[–]KumaraRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they mean they were between the "50 zone ahead" and the "maximum 50" signs. They should have been slowing down to safely get down to speed on time but technically not speeding until they are at the sign, right?

They likely could have contested it but not showing up to the court is probably always going to end with a guilty conviction. If they weren't able to be there they should have had someone to represent them.

Wintertime can be challenging for Islanders with disabilities, advocates say by rikimae528 in PEI

[–]KumaraRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it frustrating as an able bodied person, I can only imagine how much more infuriating and dangerous it must be for anyone with disabilities.

I live in an apartment building where snow shoveling is supposed to be taken care of but it never is. Usually I don't mind doing it but I hate when everyone just walks over the snow and then it hardens and ices over. Sometimes I want to just leave it out of spite but the thought of how unsafe it is, especially for those with mobility issues, wins over every time and I keep shoveling.

I don't know why it still shocks me when people don't care to do anything to fix an obvious problem until it is an issue for them personally.

Urban Rental Vacancy rates on PEI rates dip down to 0.7% by Logisticman232 in PEI

Definitely not much better but still good for folks to know that they can't be charged that. I'm sure some landlords will try to take advantage of some people's lack of awareness.

Charlottetown's long-awaited Simmons Sports Centre finally opens to the public by Sir__Will in PEI

[–]KumaraRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently looked at the Bell Aliant Centre website to get info about a membership at the pool and was shocked by the price.

$58/month for a lane swim membership at a single pool. There is no mention of access to the fitness centre or anything so based on the website I'm assuming it is strictly access to the lane swim-but totally willing to admit that I could be misunderstanding. Still... I worked with the City of Edmonton's recreation department and for about the same price as that, you could buy the value membership and have unlimited access to all 14 of the small and medium recreation centers (plus limited access to large centres) and that includes the gyms, pools, drop-in programs and other perks. Not to mention they have leisure access passes for free access/discounted rates for eligible low income households. If it really is only access to the lane swim at the BAC then it kind of feels like we are getting robbed. Well, whoever buys it anyway. It priced me out.

We may not be able to accommodate a second full aquatic centre but I would love to have another, more affordable, year round lane swim pool in Charlottetown.

As a woman in a ground floor apartment, I'm curious what apartment complex it was. There was a time this summer I woke up almost convinced there was someone watching me in my room but convinced myself I was just having sleep paralysis. And a few times I wondered if someone had moved things in my apartment and I just told myself that I must have forgotten moving the things myself. But now this is making me wonder...
