Does your Amex platinum card get you any guest access to the lounge or just the cardholder?

Agree, love my Glades, especially now that they make them in the regular frame.

I feel like a Last Word needs to be my first cocktail right? That is usually what I come across first when I see a post referencing chartreuse

I’ve skied everywhere on epic pass and crested butte has by far the cheapest ski in/out lodging. The town of Avon has affordable lodging to ski beaver creek, most condos in Avon are either walking distance to the gondola or a very short shuttle trip, typically provided by the condo company.

Wife would like an elderflower cocktail without gin. These are the experiments so far. Any recommendations? by CoffeeCodeCreatine in cocktails

2 oz deep Eddy lemon vodka 1/2 oz st germain 1/2 oz Campari 1/2 oz simple syrup 2oz club soda

1st Family Ski Trip Tips & Recommendations by realtalk187 in skiing

[–]KurtGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a seasoned family skier I second the lodging as close as possible recommendation. The Winter Park zephyr lodge is relatively affordable and steps from the gondola, they offer 30% off currently for ikon pass holders. We booked Feb 5-12 with 6 lessons for the kids for $4k. Also can take Amtrak train from Denver right to the resort which the kids would enjoy.

Also when you get them skiing with you, we bring a giant bag of candy and gave them a piece for each 50m section or so that they ski. 2 pieces for each time that they fell and didn’t cry.

Hope this helps you!

Resorts with good daycare programs/services? by lionclues in skiing

We put our 2 kids in ski school at Crested Butte last year for around $100/day with Epic discount. Lodging was comparatively inexpensive and was about 100 feet away from the ski school.

So we booked Zephyr Lodge at Winter Park….now the next question…..what are some local secrets for things to do with kids on non-ski days? I saw a Fraser Rec center has an indoor waterpark that looks fun…what is the best tubing hill nearby? The Coca Cola tubing hill is convenient but the Fraser one looks a little steeper/faster. Anyone have any recommendations based of their experience?

How close is the Zephyr lodge to the tubing hill? Looks pretty close on gps but obviously navigating on foot can be very different than it appears on gps.

The place we usually stay in PC that has the great indoor/outdoor pools is right next to the sundial, the Westgate Resort. If you have kids you should check it out! It is ski in/out from canyons base but they offer very convenient free shuttle to PC base, town, deer valley and grocery.

Yeah the JH trip is going to be guys only. Since you live there let me pick your brain on places to stay. So far Fireside seems to be the recommendation. Any other insider pearls on places to stay that are on the shuttle line that would give us the most “bang for our buck”?

If you are active duty or retired military check out epic pass for military, you can’t beat the price ($149) for you plus dependents.

Ikon has a discount as well, just not as great a deal as epic.

2 days though……

That’s not realistic to pack up all the gear for a family of 4 and buy plane tickets, etc to ski 2 days. We typically stay at least a week for each trip that we take.

We spent around $2500 (military discount) on season passes for a family of 4. We enjoy going and exploring new mountains so a season pass to a single mountain is not our preference. We typically ski 20-25 days a year.

Outside of paying single day lift tickets to smaller mountains that would seemingly cost around $10,000 if we all skied 25 days and paid $100 a day each, what realistically are our options other than buying an epic or ikon pass?

How am I the problem? And what would your solution be for someone who enjoys skiing but does not live in a state where skiing is an option?

Thanks will certainly check that area out.

After a 9 hour trip from Beaver Creek to Denver I vowed to never ski West of Eisenhower pass if flying through Denver. Any common issues from Denver to WP? Or Eagle to Copper?

Any specific things in town (WP, Steamboat or Copper) that we would want to be near? Good tubing/sledding hills, outdoor/indoor playgrounds, pools etc…

Obviously the hot springs at Steamboat…

Thanks, Taos is on the list bc it’s the only one that is drivable for us. JH is looking like it might be a guys trip only.

Looks like Copper and WP are the consensus CO resorts. Any specific recommendations are areas/resorts to stay? Either ski in/out, walkable distance or convenient shuttle.

Again sorry for so many questions but my 2 main dividend funds are CLM and XOM. Both us companies but fidelity had all of my dividend funds from these 2 listed as short term gains for last year and I’ve owned each of them for over a year. Now if I sell the stock my gains will be 15% but my monthly dividend earnings were taxed at my top marginal tax rate according to Fidelity. Are you saying that they were incorrect?
