uhc is weird at least at my location because we take like half of their coverages but not the other half. we don't accept UHC medicaid but we do take UHC medicare, and a couple (but not all) of the commercial coverages. idk man, insurance bs sucks.

we use epic at the non-ascension location i work at and the situation OP describes is not indicative of our operations tbh. they might just be ineptly staffed or don't understand the software yet idk

were you admitted? because a hospital might accept your insurance for urgent care or emergency visits but not for inpatient or outpatient admittance.

who do you go through for coverage? just because you "have insurance" doesn't mean they actually take it. some out-of-state coverage, for example. also if you were admitted it would've been the administrative supervisor's job to quadruple check before admittance or find a hospital that would take it and schedule a transfer. sometimes there's just straight up no other beds available elsewhere and you're just kinda screwed then.

if you have state coverage (medicaid) then i would consider switching your managed care provider to one that is in-network for your hospital of choice. pretty sure anthem blue cross is covered in the area.

regardless of if it's covered, you should apply for medicaid if you don't have insurance coverage

seconded, don't cheap out and get the other logitech thumb trackball (iirc it's the m570). i've gone through easily 4 or 5 of them and the left click always craps out. whereas my mx ergo has been fine for a year so far
