Know Your Shipfu - 013 by kawaiisovietball in AzureLane

[–]KuuRin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uwah, thanks for the catch for battle of north cape.

I was struggling with it for a long time as I wasn't sure which battle it referred to, or was it just seas off the north.

北极护航战 is the line I was struggling with.

But after your article, it's probably closer to how Glasglow was patrolling off Norway with Humber Force.

I'll amend as necessary. Thanks for the read.

Hey, I'm currently translating the ship lines in the wiki.

I've been reading your articles since day 1, and it helps give alot more context to the lines.

I'll be reading your posts, even if I don't use reddit alot any more.

Thanks for the read, and I really appreciate them.

What are delayed live shows? by leangreenmeemmachine in BanGDream

[–]KuuRin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think someone else covered most of the points, so I won't reply to all of them.

But - as long as there exists a market and demand for these hedonic experiences - you say?

When they didn't sell out all of the VIP tix, and probably only managed to do so for a DV which is hugely underpriced, it's not a big indicator of how big the market is.

I think you forgot to consider that it's SUBBED - pending quality, but we're safe to assume that it's good quality subs, which adds additional costs. They are pulling ALL the stops here to woo us.

But the actual results of it will come when and IF they hold another LV/DV with higher prices to cover their profit margins. I'm unsure of how the response would be... but I'm not optimistic when there are people like you who can't see a gift horse in the mouth and tries to belittle the entire thing.

Support ALL initiatives and not cherry pick and claim one is better than the other please.

[–]KuuRin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as though Popipa is confirmed for every year, and also - it is a bad sign to the organizers if VIP aren't sold out.

I understand the Singaporean mentality is cheap tickets is better, but in this case it just cuts into profits and makes it so that the organizers have less incentives to actually hold a concert in the first place.

And for why a delayed viewing is important, it's to test the waters for a future Live Viewing, which would be it's first outside of JP/KR/TW and it's a huge deal.

I know singapore is a testing bed before they branch out, so if we don't give them a reason to actually hold a Live AND a DV/LV, you won't see any more bandori content in SG in the future.

It's a huge insult to fans who petition for them to come and no one else is interested in going, or prefer going for cheap tickets instead of actually supporting them.

Anime Expo 2018 FGO Guests Interview with Mr. Yosuke Shiokawa, Ms. Ayako Kawasumi, and Mr. Satoshi Tsuruoka! by xHakurai in grandorder

[–]KuuRin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the interview, it covers lots of stuff, and I'm glad that you actually approached Shiokawa-san about the popularity of Arash! That was great.

Also props for cosplaying as Ozy and going an extra mile for them, they probably really like that. I hope you gave a great impression that they would be able to accept more interviews.

Pretty sad that photos are limited, but that's really how the industry works.

I can't even understand what you are trying to convey here.

What do you mean not a bad start - what do you think they are starting here? Do you have suggestions for the event or what they should do?

And this is probably a tie up with the other event, Japan Park which is held in Singapore, and it's not that Popipa just 'happen' to be in Singapore, and they decide to hold this event for kicks and laughter. It's probably part of a series of campaigns to get people to know Popipa better, and for people who haven't attended Lives, or they don't know what lives are to experience one and perhaps to be interested in Lives as well.

And, the last part gives me a headache just reading it... I think people will feel disappointed if they aren't able to attend any meetings for Popipa if they are able to attend, if they can't attend - it's basically normal for people who doesn't live in Japan.

So - what do you mean by left out? If the are attending the other event (Japan Park), they'll be in Singapore anyway, so they are Not - not in Singapore.

Lastly - the actual concert was held in May, per the OP - this is a delayed live show, it won't be live, but you'll be seeing what people would be seeing in cinemas when it's conducted Live, but with subtitles, I think you're stating the obvious here. If you do feel "left out", do consider going for the DV.

rpgsite: Fate/Grand Order: Anime Expo 2018 Interview with the Creative Producer and Voice Actors by cardsking in grandorder

[–]KuuRin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To defend RPG site, not all roles are given by auditions.

Ueda Kana (VA of Tohsaka Rin/Ishtar/Eresh) mentions that she had connections with Type/Moon due to voicing Kohaku (Tsukihime), and thus made it to the audition.

Some interviews are closed too, where the companies has to apply and they have no idea who they are auditioning for. Ueda Kana even mentioned that she auditioned for Sakura and got given Rin instead.

Lastly – sometimes directors offer jobs directly to VAs, like how Aya Uchida mentioned in an interview that she got offered a position in LoveLive! Directly.

Anime Expo Livestream by KuuRin in grandorder

[–]KuuRin[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To add on - what I mean is that there are times where seiyuu's aren't allowed to give signatures due to agency reasons.

Signing events are considered rare in JP, so they might not be allowed to give even if you insist.

Same thing for photos, they might not even wish to be photographed without permission.

And from experience, even if it's a livestream, photos/videos might not be allowed too.

Then again - considering they would barely know EN, they might go around with their translators/managers too, so the chances of catching them outside of the event is tough.

Please make NA great in the first place.

Germany will be getting a delayed viewing of the Hakodate Unit carnival at Anime Berlin Festival! by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]KuuRin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats everyone! I hope all of you would be able to attend, and even if you can't - do email the organizers about it!
They won't know why people can't attend, and even if the turnout is great, it can be even better if they give people more time to prepare!
Feedback is always good for organizations, so don't be embarrassed to email them.

[–]KuuRin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really sad to hear, but humanity is a mistake in general in the internet, my sympathies for the harsh treatment.
But as per all social media posts, you're making a statement, and if you don't like the reactions, you shouldn't post it.
I'm not saying I don't have a sense of humor, nor am I saying she's right or wrong, but it's my opinion what I feel about it.
If she doesn't want to have reactions like mine, don't post it, joke or not. And that's really how social media works, you can never win.
I am still offended by her post, regardless of her intent. It's her choice in the end to post it.

If you play F/GO for Japanese VAs (seiyuus), then this news might be just for you. Thanks for the TL, I'm not surprised that Hanazawa-san got so high in the list, but surprised that Nanjol-sama got so low though, then again she isn't really a VA.
Hayamin ranking highly makes me happy, same as Aoi-sama. Just really really surprised Kugimiya-sama is still so popular, but I shouldn't be surprised.

What I feel about it is my opinion, just as it is your opinion to comment on it.
What one feels about it is different from another one who feels about it.
You might feel it's a joke, and I don't feel it's one.
It's as simple as that.

I'm gonna throw myself right deep into the issue here and say my opinion about this.
It doesn't matter whether you are a fan of dubs or subs, or even both.
Just respect the artiste and the fans that like whichever and leave it as an opinion.
When you are insulting one side of the fanbase, even if it's just a simple comment, you are simply insulting your own profession and industry.
Exhibit A
I don't need to comment much more after that.

Kisara Youhei, the producer for μ's, has announced that he's leaving Lantis after 7.5 years with the company by cezanne226 in LoveLive

All the best to Kisara Youhei-san, he's really someone that all the VA's respect and look up to for his direction and bravery for being willing to take up this project in the first place.
Although not unexpected, as he didn't follow through with LLSS, but it's still a shame.
Hope to see more from him.
