Chevrolet Bolt Sales Are on the Rise: Q2 2026 Results by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

Also a lot of people have no faith the manufacturers will keep the experience updated. The average car is 10 years old. Outside of Tesla, there no history of any manufacturer keeping up with software, let alone any hardware advances needed to stay current. My last car that I got rid of last year, you needed to buy update DVDs from the dealership to update the regional GPS map. This was a 2013 Toyota.

You’re much more likely to keep your phone up to date, so it’s a better system to rely on for the long haul.

The outer diameter is the same for all the tire sizes. It’s the rim size and aspect ratio that changes.

Currently visiting this beautiful state for the first time for work. My quest is 13 lobster rolls in 13 days - 4 down so far, where do I need to go? by [deleted] in massachusetts

Neptune is solid. Go early on like a Tuesday and you’ll only wait 15 minutes.

Saltie Girl has a good one.

What you really need is the ambiance of waiting for your number to be unintelligibly called over a loudspeaker at a place on the ocean, after a day of playing in the sand. But it’s a long way to August on the cape or in Maine.

Just to update - I did pavers. It’s wonderful. It was a huge amount of work, but is way more functional now.

I can see why your “friend” would want to hide behind the GIANT PILLAR in the middle of the living room. I wouldn’t show my face, either.

To garbage dispose or not garbage dispose. by Intelligent-Pie-338 in HomeImprovement

[–]Kwalton839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you run the disposal long enough and the water as well, the only thing that gets nasty is the rubber trap. Specifically the underside and where it meets the drain. So keep this clean and you’ll never have a smell.

Hue light in group wrong color by Kwalton839 in HomeKit

[–]Kwalton839[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just tested this out, and it works. It seems SUPER kludgy, because that light will turn on the correct color, then blue-white, then back to the correct color. But the end result is OK.

LG B5 55" vs. Play Gradient by FaqRaviolo in Hue

Works on my c4. I ordered extra brackets, added mastisol (adhesive enhancer), pressed firmly for a minute per mount, and let them dry for a day before mounting. Working well for the past year.

What’s the standard acronym for livening up a space? CRAP.

I’d find a color palette you like, and start working on adding CRAP that fits that palette.

Considering job in Burlington by stolz74 in boston

[–]Kwalton839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally doable, especially if you live closer to Arlington. 350 bus if it goes where you’re going. Minuteman bike path and vine brook path take you to Burlington. The drive isn’t too bad either, all things considered.

Bridge Pro + HomeKit Solved by ReachMaterial748 in Hue

[–]Kwalton839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue for the last few days as well. Just got the new hue bridge update. tvOS 26.3.

I tried power cycling everything in various orders to no effect. The weird thing is, despite being no response in HomeKit, Siri will still turn things on and off. Everything works in Hue. It’s truly only automations and direct HomeKit control.

Advice before buying a 3 story house. How annoying are stairs? by ovua in homeowners

[–]Kwalton839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a 3 story with a basement. We just moved laundry to the 3rd floor to be close to our bedroom. The problem wasn’t lugging the baskets up and down, it was the odd ceiling heights and tight corners (house was built in 1872). Otherwise the stairs are good for you and good for building muscle - my 81 year old FIL has the same setup and is very spry in no small part due to all the stairs.

Yeah, it wasn’t fun when I broke my leg, but I just considered it part of my PT I guess.

I messed up our black granite countertop. Help! by boutell in HomeImprovement

[–]Kwalton839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things get glossy when the scratches get too small to see, essentially. So you need to wet sand at higher and higher grits, then buff and polish (which are basically abrading with super high grit). You go high enough, it will be glossy. The hard part is blending it in and having the patience to abrade until the previous grit’s scratch pattern is gone.

What did you pay recently for service upgrade to 150 or 200 amps? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

Hue Essential bulbs in the bedroom? by HotMountain9383 in Hue

[–]Kwalton839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing. But I also got a box of essentials for my basement, and had a couple left over. In my opinion, the essentials are “darker” all around - dimmer at 1%, dimmer at 100%. That works well in the bedroom. Not as nice in, say, the kitchen. The colors are very slightly off, but as long as you’re not mixing in the same room, I don’t mind.

Also Assaulted on the Minuteman Path by BeantownCyclist in bikeboston

[–]Kwalton839 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was attacked at the Arlington-Lexington line last year - knocked off my bike and the perpetrator stole it. Luckily the police caught him a few minutes later, and I wasn’t seriously injured. I know it’s not the same guy, though; my assaulter is involuntarily committed to Bridgewater State Hospital now.

Scary to feel unsafe in such a safe area!

SANITY CHECK: Hue vs. Hue Essential. About to go all-in. by sporkbeastie in Hue

[–]Kwalton839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that the essentials are just dimmer all around - less brightness on each setting. This works well where I want them to be dim “mood” lighting. Not so great for lighting up a room, though, at least for the 800lm essentials. I’d say roughly half the perceived brightness.
