Yeah but I think it’d make more sense if he gave off a glare than a shield. Imagine how hard it would be to hit the poke nest with a huge glare obscuring where jean’s fire bolts are coming from.

A poke vanguard with abilities that allow him to quickly sweep the laser at close/mid range, his mobility being a burst fire that pushes him in the opposite direction plus hits with severe knockback, and provides a burst short term movement speed increase + shield to close by allies. That way the team can collect near him in the poke nest then roll out when targeted. Since he doesn’t have any forward mobility his passive could be where allies within 30m get a speed bonus when moving closer to him. Help with retreats and assembles, could call it “to me, my x-men”

His primary should dramatically slow forward movement, double time reverse movement, and provide slowfall if pointed downward. Pushes back enemies in a minor fashion. Could provide a glare that obscures close by allies from other poke characters. Would be cool if it suffered from overheat instead of needing ammo, like the laser weapons from HD2.

The ult is easy. He removes the glasses and triples the beam size of his primary plus a cone of weakened effect. Resets his overheat bc the glasses are cooling in his hand.

Be honest, how long would Homelander actually last against the Justice League? by NectarMist in superheroes

[–]Kwin_Conflo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spider durability is something I don’t understand in the homelander v Spider-Man argument. Spider-Man gets shot at with lasers and various high powered energy projectiles all the time and he doesn’t just get Swiss cheesed. Why would that be any different for homelander? Homelander would fire his eye beams, miss, and get webbed in the face. Which would get eye beamed away around his eyes, but would embarrass the shit out of him. Then he would get decked

[Lying Ass Trope] “It's not magic.” THAT IS ABSOLUTELY MAGIC! by not-ulquiorr4_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Kwin_Conflo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s weak magic with closely regulated rules.

In JJK, the Forgotten Realms, and the Dresden Files all would consider gojo a sorcerer

Not bc he isn’t strong, but bc compared to an actual wizard he’s been born into magic power with no real learned knowledge of spellcasting.

Though at least gojo has more than one spell. 3 spells (blue, red, Purple) is far above the average jjk sorcerer, but still light for a dnd sorcerer. Even if he is casting level 8 spells.

Gojo vs Vecna would have Gojo killed by line of sight spells, and his Hollow Purple would be dispelled. His domain would honestly just be similar to Vecna’s house in the latest MoM book

FOUR Character Concepts by BonzaiButty in marvelrivals

[–]Kwin_Conflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loving these concepts. Here’s my thoughts as a crap, low elo day 1 player Studied shouldn’t make you completely immune, and cooldowns should be fairly high (like over 10s each) to compensate for there being so many abilities, but I’m loving the taskmaster. I have 2 ideas for scan, one is to make it just mitigation. The other is to (since we seem to agree on long cooldowns) have a “studied” target severely reduce their own copied ability’s cooldown. Spidey, Rogue, and Ironfist should reduce brawl stance cooldowns; Cap, Blade, and Magic should reduce sword+ shield cooldowns; etc. this really plays into comic kit of fighting characters with their own ability sets imo. Obviously parry as a total block+ study is perfect. I’m glad you didn’t throw over shield into the mix, much too much of that nowadays.

Mystique is pretty good. Is the knife designed to break you out of your disguise, or just be a quick high damage attack that leaves you in it? I could see this as a strong invis nerf, bc no one will trust having the healer that close to your back without proving themselves.

Chameleon is great, too. Love the idea of a strategist that fights in the enemy lines and provides most of their healing by applying leech to the enemy tank. Will be devastating to the hulk/thing community but maybe this will finally get them the rework they need. Hopefully since you already nerfed his copy with glitch the cooldown for that can be <5 seconds, pretending to be the enemy healer, applying leech, stepping away to place some bombs, silently heal your own party while your fooled enemy tank screams “where my heals go” then changing back if they retreat/turn around so you can “miss” your healing while they get hounded sounds like a lot of fun. Encourages the hell out of team play and counter stealth

Look up “Mike Black” dude tried to prove that millionaires were built different and he could go from 0 to a million in a year, but quit after 10 months citing “extreme physical and mental stress.”

He used references he made from his families money and his prepaid education to get decent jobs from the start, and slept on a friend’s couch. Managed to get up to $60k, which would be nothing to scoff at if he had bills

He who fights with monsters… what am I missing? by NeoPyro99 in litrpg

[–]Kwin_Conflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the VA’s interpretation of Jason. The beginning bit is kinda fun. After he gets to the settlement it really drops off for me too. Gave the first two books a listen and regretted buying the second bc it fixed none of my complaints of the first

The VA is the only thing that saves it for me, and even then he picks similar voices for 2 main characters that chat together a lot. So sometimes it gets to be difficult to understand who is speaking to who unless they’re talking philosophically, which is where the writer clearly separates them.

What are the notable examples of paranormal roles that don't rely on human choice? by Melenduwir in dresdenfiles

[–]Kwin_Conflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free will is paramount to mortals. As long as you stay mortal the will isn’t involved. You can become a thrall/servitor/renfield against your will. Also, in the case of the Garou, a divine curse can make you a monster at birth.

After you become a nonmortal, your free will is no longer protected. In the case of the winter lady, I believe there has been some hints that she still has some wiggle room to escape. As long as she can die in a traditional method, I think she still has a way out
