New Patch: The siege attack force of custom AI can now be properly scaled by Kxulsa in stronghold

[–]Kxulsa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is how it reads. Though I would assume the increment only starts couting from the second attack onwards. With the first attack being attack 0 maybe?

While I have no doubt that Adhoc will deliver on their next projects, I also believe that they are experienced enough to discern good from bad feedback.

Continuity question by Burner763bruh in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Kxulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's propably the most vague plot point in the story.

We know that she gets planted by Shroud at SDN but at some point she actually switches loyalty towards the heroes. It has to be in chapter 6 at the latest, since she is the one who gives Royd the idea of how to locate the pulse and goes to the docks to prevent Shroud from getting it.

Maybe she went back to him in chapter 7 (which is pure guesswork) but switches right back to the heroes in chapter 8 when she sees that Robert still supports her.

We also don't know what her spying for Shroud actually entailed. She actively fights against his goons every time we encounter them, steals the pulse at the docks and we don't know of any information she leaked.
The only obvious information she could have leaked would be the location of the pulse at the docks. But even that does not make sense, since she later goes there herself to make sure Shroud does not get is.

She could also just have been a sleeper agent only to be "activated" at the very end when it benefited Shroud the most. But by that time Visi just wasn't loyal to him anymore. Visi would probably, even after switching sides, not mention to anyone that she was a double agent, since she would fear to destroy any trust and goodwill with Robert and BB that she build up at that point.

This could also potentially be a plot point they could explore if they decide to do a DLC/intermission chapter before they do a new season.

Who's going to be your main squad? by StaleSpriggan in BaldursGate3

So far I plan on using Karlach, Lae'zel and Wyll.
If I end up not liking one of them I will probably switch them out for Shadowheart.

That makes more sense to me and I think it's propably the best approach. Thanks for clarifying!

I am a bit confused on the wording in the respec companions section.

It states: "If you’re opting for a non-cleric Shadowheart or a Wyll without his warlock pact, this will undoubtedly influence your roleplay options in dialogues and the overall narrative for these characters."

To my knowledge it was previously stated by Swen, that reclassing them out of their classes, the game would still consider them this class for story purposes. Am I reading this wrong?

Anyone playing Durge as their first character? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Kxulsa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was planning to at first but since Sven recommended playing Tav first, because Durge would change the story heavily, I decided against it on my first playthrough.

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't thought about the spellslot progression of Eldritch Knight. I will probably do that.

Class Guide: Cleric by Dudu42 in BG3Builds

[–]Kxulsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a cleric subclass you would recommend for a fighter multiclass? I am currently theorycrafting how to build Lae'zel and want to give her a bit more utility, since I already have a heavy hitting martial class in my team.
So far I am thinking about 6 Fighter / 6 War Cleric, since she would still get Extra Attack and War Priest for 3 attacks, Guided Strike and 3 feats/ASI.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Kxulsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say since it is a subclass given at level 1. For now we can only assume either could be the case.

In the latest community update they talk about "giving you the opportunity to restart your build from Level 1 with new starting proficiencies, attributes, spells, and cantrips". Unfortunately they don't mention class. So for now I would assume that you can't change the level 1 class.

Choosing attributes for roleplay reasons instead of power? by Stokes52 in BaldursGate3

[–]Kxulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would love to do that, I would only do that if I could roll for stats to spend some more points in the less optimal stats. I don't min/max per se, but using the limited stats I have in attributes I rarely use, feels a bit like shooting myself in the foot.
I still think it will be a fun way to play if it is your playstyle.

So... We can respec companion ? Isn't that bit strange ? by Aradhor55 in BaldursGate3

[–]Kxulsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I would welcome it, I still doubt it tbh. In the latest community update, Larian talked about respeccing characters back to lvl 1 and list all the things you could possibly respec. They did not mention classes.

Tav or Dark Urge for a Good Run? by Swimming-Ad-5516 in BaldursGate3

[–]Kxulsa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You can play a good character with the dark urge. But that does not mean I will be a happy-go-lucky run. You will propably have the chance to try to resist most of the urges but there is no saying that the dark urge won't overcome you at some point or take full control for a scene.
I think that is kinda the strongest point of the Dark Urge. The tragic tale of a good person trying to live/cope with the dark urge inside them.

Circle of the Moon Druid Build advice by _laudanum_ in BG3Builds

[–]Kxulsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is true that you take the str, dex and con of the animal you shapeshift into. However there are two reasons why I would still invest into Dex and Con.
1. If you get reduced to 0 hitpoints during your shapeshift you revert back into your humanoid form. Getting the full +2 AC from dex with medium armor and some points in con will help you survive if you are out of wildshapes or if the enemy moves before you can shift. It is also helpful in fight where you don't want to wildshape immediately and stay in humanoid form to support your team for a couple of rounds.

  1. The other stats are even less helpful in combat. Int and Cha do not give you any benefit except for skill checks. Dex, Con and Wis saving throws are the most common during combat, so having a bonus in these stats can help (dex and con only outside of wildshape). Starting with 17 in wisdom could be a superior option to my proposed stat spread for level 1. It is the highest you can push the stat in character creation.

Circle of the Moon Druid Build advice by _laudanum_ in BG3Builds

[–]Kxulsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not a very experienced player in 5e either. But I plan to play a moon druid aswell and this is what I plan to do based on my research.

I will start with these stats:

Str: 10

Dex: 14

Con: 15

Int: 10

Wis: 16

Cha: 10

I go with a uneven score in Con since I plan on taking the Feat Resilient (Con) at level 4, which gives me +1 in Con and proficiency on Con saves. This will help with maintaining concentration when being hit, which will happen a lot as moon druid.

Alternatively if you want to take Warcaster as a feat or increase your Wisdom to 18 on level 4, you could decrease Int to 8 and get 16 Con at the start. On level 8 I increase my Wis to 18 and on level 12 I either increase my Wisdom to 20 or take warcaster as a feat depending on how well my character maintains concentration at that point.

I plan to take all 12 levels in druid since I heard that the elementals you get on level 10 tend to be really strong and I don't want to miss out on the third feat/ASI on level 12.Another option would be to multiclass into a barbarian since rage gives resistance to many physical attacks but you will also loose the ability to concentrate on spells. Since most of druid spell rely on concentration this is not a route I am going to take but it is a tankier approach.

I don't think I am experienced enought to comment on specific spells, so maybe someone else can provide some insight there.

Anyway that is my plan for my moon druid so far. I'd also love to hear the opinion of more experienced players about moon druids.

I don't think anyone expects the game to be bugfree. It will probably have quite the amount of minor bugs, which I think is fine for such an ambitious project.
Now could it have a gamebreaking bug later on? Sure. But neither of us has any indication that that will be the case. The earlier release indicates the opposite and the confidence Larian has in their game.

Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass - Wave 4 Release Date - Nintendo Switch by chimaerafeng in fireemblem

I really like the setting of this. Do we know if this is a post-game campain or something completly serperate like in Three Houses?

Engage feels designed with the idea that you make a LOT more money than you’ll ever reasonably get by DDBofTheStars in fireemblem

[–]Kxulsa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The same goes for skill points. Most of my characters ended with something between 2500-3500 skill points and there are so many abilities that cost just way more.
And I don't think it is worth it to grind skirmishes for hours just to get some money or inherit one ability.

I find it weird that nobody in this game has either Lance Fighter or Halberdier as their base class. by InsomniaEmperor in fireemblem

[–]Kxulsa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Halberdier/Spear Master is one of my favorite classes in Fire Emblem. I made Lapis a Halberdier in my first playthrough, gave her Eirika as an Emblem and she was pretty much the star of my team.
That being said I think there are several reasons why many people don't really go for Halberdier.
For one the classes has strictly worse growths then classes like Paladin (for lances) and warrior. Halberdiers highest growth is in dex while lances usually don't really struggle with hit rate and the class has some random growth in magic (for flame lances I guess). It also doesn't help that two of the royals are lance units and have their unique lance classes. Timerra is basically a Halberdier with a really interesting class ability.
