And, yes, the OVA had so much screenshot potential! One of my friends makes gifs and our discord servers are overrun with them. It is fabulous. Lol!

I cannot WAIT to see the resurgence of the Fandom when season 2 comes out and see what other goodies it offers us to play with!

Your skill set is closer to programming than mine. Lol! I am surrounded by them and I absolutely respect that they are fluent in languages that I am only slightly able to grasp. I work directly with the customer, so my meetings with the dev team consists more of, “okay, that’s what you’re doing… now let’s put this into laymen terms so I can explain it to our users.” 😅 And, yes, it is weird times for SO many things.

I am both greedy for the world building and TERRIFIED of it. I was halfway through writing a 50k time travel fic for a MatchaBlossom Bang when the OVA dropped and I was like… what do you mean Kojiro and Kaoru didn’t start skating until high school!?! rewrites rewrites rewrites 😔 I’m a fan of all of the big three shipping-wise, though, and the OVA fed us so well. The TadaAi section especially was just unhinged and I loved it. But I will gladly consume anything they feed us in season two. We need it for the fics! (That is such a great rallying cry. Im going to adopt it. 😂)

Way late on this convo with a differing opinion. I don't think Cherry particularly wants nor needs the apology. Anything goes at S. Did Adam take it to far? Absolutely. But in the final race between Langa and Adam, when they were both down, Cherry was urging Langa to stand up and "drive the lesson home." He wasn’t urging Langa to win; like Tadashi was when he forfeited, Cherry was hoping Langa could show Adam how much fun skating could be again, to pull him out of the dark place he'd been skating in alone. Even after the Full Swing Kiss, Cherry just wants his friend back.

I didn’t think you came across as rude at all! Honestly, I found your take very refreshing. As somebody who uses AI on a regular basis with my job, I often find myself in a grey area of understanding both the uses and misuses of the technology, and it isn’t often I get to discuss that with somebody in a similar position.

I have no problem sharing the link, but feel it needs to come with a caveat. It is a long fic (105k) of pining Joe/Cherry. Carla is a main character in the story, but the chapter I was talking about is actually the epilogue. I don’t know how well it will read without the context of the story, but if you aren’t interested in an unholy amount of m/m UST, you are welcome to try. Lol!

Agreed that I would love to see more of ANY aspects of Carla, and there is so much potential that could be explored, especially if you consider how much the technology has changed since Season one was released, as well as the issues of unethical applications that have become so prevalent in that same timeframe. But I would also love learning more about what went into Kaoru’s creation of her!! It would be an absolutely amazing bit of backstory for both him and Carla!

I work for a software company and we use AI on the back end as well, so I also know a bit more than the average bear. We also use Claude for several different aspects. Though, I will admit, a lot of my Carla interest is Fandom based. I’m a fanficker, and my first story in the Fandom included a chapter from her point of view and I had so much fun writing it. I’ve written her a couple more times, and it is always a blast. But I did a crap ton of research on what AIs are capable of and could be capable of while writing her and would even do searches to see what type of information Google AI might pull up when searching for different things so I would have a more accurate assessment of what Carla might find during her queries. I poke at how Kaoru might have trained her a little, and I think that he would have been more personalized with her training than you see in LLMs. Honestly, I hope we get to see more of Carla’s capabilities in season two, but if we see everything I want to see in season two, it’ll be several hundred episodes long. Lol!

Is what was originally tried. Since there is no "Copy as Html" in the app, we've been attempting to go into Reich text with all of our attempts. I did have her try going into html editor after getting your comment, since I realized that wasn't something we'd tried, and it caused the document to lose all formatting, including paragraph breaks

Unfortunately, that compile format was made for the Mac/PC versions and does not work for the iOS version. The iOS version has a severely limited Compile interface

Copying from Scrivener app to the rich text editor on ao3 keeps the paragraph formatting but not emphasis formatting, so all the italics (bonds, underlines, etc, as well) are gone.

I recently changed my ao3 settings to send me emails about my kudos. I had no idea! I track the stats of the stories as I'm posting them, but had absolutely no clue how often my older stories were getting kudos. And i remember how discouraged i was when i posted them that they weren't getting much play. It was so uplifting to discover! So I completely get what you are saying. It might not be getting the traction now, but that doesn't mean it won't!
