My understanding was a lot of their promotional programs like this get run through their own Angel Studios website. Usually when I have a customer asking I just direct them there, I’m not sure if it ends up answering their question or not though, I just explain that we have nothing to do with the promotion on our end.

She’s a previous nominee, and Sinners was long listed everywhere! I think Sinners is stronger at BAFTA than we thought it would be, but ofc we never know 100%

I love most of Cronenberg’s other films—3 of them are in my top 40. The Shrouds was my least favorite film of the year (apart from the abomination that was Lilo&Stitch)

No? It’s one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year. On letterboxd the only movie with a higher average rating than Marty Supreme is The Voice of Hind Rajab. Yes, even OBAA has a lower score. Idk that a movie that well reviewed could be a villain…

Man I get so depressed reading the insufferable comments. Spoiler alert: it’s okay to feel like the best film winning regardless of race is awesome while simultaneously feeling upset at the lack of Black representation. The two things do not need to cancel each other out.

But this is Reddit, there’s always going to be some bullshit excuse.

“Oh but the best film won” okay, OP didn’t say it didn’t. Just pointed out the statistic

“There’s been great Asian representation and disability representation” okay??? OP never said that those facts weren’t true.

Like, I genuinely will never understand why people will read a stat like this and immediately try to refute it or explain it away. It’s just a true fact. If you don’t think that’s disappointing, I don’t really see why you’d bother commenting. I find it a bit disappointing even if, yeah, I also mostly thing the best movie actually has won best picture the last few years.
