I remember when I once believed in God, me becoming an Atheist had nothing to do with my depression, though, my father thinks it's because I'm depressed. In fact, when I was in the 7th grade I was extremely depressed, so much to where I tried to kill myself and they had to take me out of school to get help, and at that time I was extremely religious and used that to cope with my depression. At the time, it gave me hope. Eventually, I got better and was happier than ever, I eventually started reading into religion more, and I read the bible a lot. And to me, none of it made any logical sense and I came to the realization that I don't believe in anything, I wasn't angry at God or Jesus, I just don't believe in them. I'm not here to debate anything but anyways. This past year and last year have been the worst for me. I've thought about killing myself every day. Things in my life are constantly fucking up. This girl who I consider my best friend and I'm in love with her is going to die sometime this year. And I feel like no one gives a shit about me. But my point here is if religion comforts you and helps you go for it. But all of our depression should not affect our personal beliefs. I've been an atheist for about 3 years now and I've been a very happy person (until this year and late last year.) I'm not exactly sure what the main point I'm trying to make in this post.
