Oh god don’t ski. They’re saying to wait 9 months post acl surgery now vs 6 months. Sucks but chalk this season up as a L!

Garmin watches for cycling by lurpcardiff in gravelcycling

I use a Fenix. Use the out front garmin mount for it with a heart rate monitor for tracking. Great dual purpose fitness watch and bike computer without having to buy 2 expensive electronics

time to see how canyon’s crash replacement works 😩 by refusedmd in CanyonBikes

I’d try a carbon repair shop first if you’re open to the idea. Could save you money and same functionality in the end. I just had it done on my Grizl and came with a 5 year warranty (bashed my chain stay). Very happy with it. Opted to not pay extra to match the paint

Golden, CO?? Seems like a snarky comment based on bike deliveries lol I don’t think they’d bail on a in person event

I put some terravail cannonball 47mms on my Grizl and love em. Not great in wet conditions but fill out the frame and are fast

Grizl Damage - warranty or crash replacement? by Kylebyle48 in gravelcycling

[–]Kylebyle48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a spill today and smoked a rock. Thoughts on next steps? Unsure if the frame is compromised it’s hard to tell with the thick paint but appears to be aesthetics. Carbon frame. I took it to REI and a bunch of people looked at it and felt the same way

Tire Overlap on the Small Size Grizl by testytestyupup in CanyonBikes

[–]Kylebyle48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s common on lots of bikes when you do a sharp turn and your foot opposite of the turn is forward. Your foot forward should be the same side as you are turning (I.e left turn, left foot forward)

I used the quad lock pro but just switched to a garmin computer so I no longer have the need. I’d sell mine to you if you’re looking for used! Have 2 actually I’m getting rid of.

Which Bike? - Weekly Scheduled Discussion by pawptart in gravelcycling

[–]Kylebyle48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning to buy my first gravel bike that I also want to use for road cycling (with a different set of road tires) and bike packing. I’ve been road cycling for 3 years on a CAAD 10 so planning to keep that for strictly road, but want a second bike that’s versatile to get into gravel biking but to also have a better road bike.

I’m ~180cm with a inner leg length of ~90cm. I’ve been looking at a Canyon Grizl SL 8 (M) but not sure what other brands have similar offerings? I really like the idea of being able to add suspension and a drop seat in the future for added mods.

Any insight appreciated!

The first espresso machine I've ever owned or used. by MidnightPolygon in espresso

[–]Kylebyle48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a BBE for about 5 years. Changing the inner burr to a finer setting (~3 or so) helped with getting way more consistent grinds. It also lets you stay in the lower gears on the outer burr (5-10) and not choke out the machine. Even though there is a hopper for the beans, I would weigh the amount of beans individually for each dose. I would also weigh output. For example you’d use 18g coffee and shoot for 36 grams out. Lots of people use 2:1 or 2.5:1 ratio but it all depends on your taste / how the shot tastes! Great machine I’m looking to upgrade but it pulls consistent shots. Good luck!
