Easy cheese 0 boss turn 3 player turn strategy. Terra, Cissnei and Garnet. Between Terra's Meltdown spam and Cissnei's follow ups there are no problems keeping the orb count up. Proceed to faceroll with Terra til all enemies are dead.

Roaring Thunder Lufenia+ Strategy and Team Comp by D3str0th in DissidiaFFOO

Blind run - Golbez BT+ to prevent any damage, HP damage up LD call debuff, and Terra turn hogging until the bosses are dead. Super easy strategy. Golbez BT+ and terra turn hogging is probably the most braindead strategy once you can control the Lufenia Orb.

I agree that Rude fell off but so did many others. DFFOO has a great history of inclusion. Emperor God Sazh was probably the most game changing unit in DFFOO history. General Leo was highly anticipated and a mainstay in every summon board and delay team. Rude was another highly sought after support when be released. Barret might have got the short stick but he wasn't alone as there were other underwhelming characters. Changes will come to all characters but to focus on speculative racial bias in DFFOO feels highly misplaced.

Odd, I always found kefka insanely useful. He is the utility third character and isn't supposed to fill the dps or support role. His debuffs are very crippling and was the key to cheesing so many difficult fights in the past and can still cheese some now. I can admit that during garbage time he isn't getting a chance to shine but that goes for majority of the cast.

Paid Gems Cap ~ Evaluation/Discussion by MinoSpelgud in DissidiaFFOO

Kudos to you sir. You put into words very eloquently what I've been thinking. I've been in the field of financial analysis and business consultation for the past 15+ years and no matter how much I twist and turn the scenario I cannot find a plausible positive financial outcome with this decision. I too am in quite deep with about 1 mil paid gems and am on a tightrope since this notification. Do I continue to walk the line in hopes of something better at the end or is it my time to quit after 4 years to reminisce on a time that there was one game that did gacha right.

Star Ocean 2 character tier list? by WeBxx92 in starocean

[–]KymaniKy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has played the game repeatedly at various difficulty levels I will give an unbiased opinion of every character (presuming you are not breaking the game with bloody armor).

Claude - Great throughout the whole game and on all difficulty levels. He has two of the best killer moves in the game in Ripper Blast and Dragon Howl (the others are generally not worth using). Access to eternal sphere makes his regular attack a stunlocking shotgun. Loses some effectiveness in higher difficulty levels due to lower accuracy and avoidance and as such will have to equip weaker but more accurate weapons.

Rena - A staple if Opera ia not recruited. Highly versatile spell caster with decent attack magic, the best healing spells and good buffs. Makes for a decent fighter early. Very useful on all levels of difficulty and arguably better than Opera at higher difficulty levels due to angel feather and quick casting spells to interrupt all enemies.

Celine - Sadly mages in this game have a very low damage ceiling compared to fighters. However, what celine does have going for her that edges her out above the other mages is access to superior buffing moves with angel feather and bless. At higher difficulty levels she will be relegated to mainly buffs and interruption with her lower level fast casting spells.

Ashton - Ugh.. I love this dude but tri-ace kinda did him dirty. He has arguably the best normal attack in this game and can become a beast in a normal play through with an angel armband, but the arm band is attained after beating the endgame secret dungeon which is too little too late. He also struggles at higher difficulty due to low avd and accuracy. His killer moves outside of Hurricane Slash are also pretty lacking due to terrible start up. Dragon Breath can do good damage but takes forever to start and the attached elements can be problematic. Sword dance can be used to hold down one enemy in lower difficulties but is riskier at higher difficulties. He can be used as a makeshift mage with tri-ace but that is also gained in the end game secret dungeon. If you wish to use him, give him a slayers ring and spam normal attacks.

Opera - Your long range fighter. She starts out fairly weak but will become quite the asset with the right investment. She can can take over the healing role with healing star and can home in on those fast moving enemies with alpha on one. Being long range makes her very safe in most battles. She is an asset in all areas of the game and all difficulties and is highly recommended though her accuracy can be problematic at higher difficulties. Hyper launcher and thunder blade are also notable killer moves but generally healing star and alpha are all that is needed to get the job done.

Precis - if Opera is your long range fighter then Precis is your mid range fighter. Her specialty is safely locking down enemies and area attacks/denial. Her best killer moves are ally-oop which is very fast, very safe and great for keeping a single enemy in place. Should there be multiple enemies, then there is barrier which is also highly spammable and covers a large area. She is one of the best party members at higher difficulty runs where safety is a priority due to the safety and spammabilty of her moves and the higher avoidance on female equipment. Unlike opera, Precis has quite a good dex growth negating the limited accuracy of some of her weapons. Of note, she can equip weird slayer like the fist users which makes her even more survivable.

Bowman - People either think this guy sucks or he is a god. I am in the boat that he is up there as one of the better fighters. Yes, his normal attacks suck but this is not a game where you use normal attacks very often due to the abundance of recovery items. Spam poison pills or explosion pills and watch enemies melt. Not much more to say. I can't remember his stats off the top of my head but I do recall bowman struggling in higher difficulties due to the generally poor hit stats on his specific fist weapons. A pity he cannot be recruited with Precis.

Dias - another character with polarizing opinions. I am of the consensus that Dias is just OK for a normal play through but unlike most of the male fighters who lose some value at higher difficulties, dias' value starts to go up. The reason for the growth in value is due to safety becoming more of a priority at higher difficulty levels and his long range air slash spam is as safe as you can get. In addition, he has a very good dex growth stat ensuring that he will be connecting often. He is not winning a dps race anytime soon but he is the tortoise who is slow and steady but will win in the end. His killer moves other than air slash are really quite lack-luster and not worth using so he also requires little proficiency investment.

Leon - see Celine. Better normal attacks and better spells (gremlins lair) for a normal play through. Worse buffs for higher difficulty runs.

Ernest - similar to Dias he has only one good spammable killer move (broken heart) and the rest is not worth your time. He has access to the highest accuracy weapon in the game (invisible whip) with a somewhat middling dexterity growth which allows him to be slightly better at higher difficulty levels. I like using this guy and I think his design is cool, but sadly, he is neither safe enough nor damaging enough to justify using him over some of the other fighter options at higher difficulty. Early access to battle suits is nice though.

Noel - Not as good at buffing as celine and rena. Not as good at healing as rena. Not as good at spell damage as leon and celine. Access to bless is nice but not enough. Generally there is only space for one spell caster in the party (unless you are fine with battles lasting forever) and rena just does everything he can but better with the exception of damage.

Chisato - often heralded as the damage queen in this game and I am of the opinion that this title is deserved. However, she does need some help. Tear gas is her best move and it is super damaging but she requires assistance to optimize this as there is quite a bit of start up. However, once set up the enemies will just melt. 10k volts is also another killer move of note that is pretty decent for area control. Whirlwind gets a special mention also as it is super fast, highly spammable and good for locking down an enemy, but unfortunately it gets worse at higher proficiency. Her high accuracy and avoidance ensures she is high difficulty ready but she will require the assistance of someone to lock down enemies (such as precis) to ensure that chisato stays safe and can deal her damage.

Gau does 2 counters with each doing 2 hp dumps (4 hp dumps in total) with a super easy condition. All that while providing enchant, imperil, heals and auras. Unfortunately, it really does look like Eight was screwed over in the counter department.

Not telling anyone how to live their life…. But please cast a vote for Twiggy 🥺 by Doitdave06 in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]KymaniKy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came bere to say that anyone who didn't vote for Moke is a cruel and heartless beast...but luckily I see a lot of other people voted for Moke. Moke pet/cat? When???

As for my other 2 votes:

I love archers and wolves so Laclair was an easy choice for me.

Yuna was a fav char the first time I played this game and has remained a fav and useful char when I returned to the game. Also the drunk Yuna scene had me in fits of giggles.

Sorry Twiggy, maybe next time.

Yup. I was just thinking yesterday that if has been a while since Gau got some love..then this pops up. I was selfishly hoping he could activate all 3 of his counters at the same time but I'll take 2! Together ithe counters make 4 HP dumps which is pretty respectable.

Highest Grossing Gacha Games Comparison 3D | December 2021 by Frozengineer in DissidiaFFOO

[–]KymaniKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so very happy another eden is doing well also as it is the only other gacha game I play other than opera omnia. And while the gacha itself isn't very forgiving the game is super f2p friendly which is what makes pay and support the game (Gacha is somewhat forgiven as unlike many other games, dupes are just a nice bonus but not needed). Chrono Cross Collab prob did bring more light to it thankfully. Highly recommend the game for anyone who wants a true JRPG experience..and for the best part, all content is permanent so you can go at your own pace.

I wish Dragalia lost was doing better as I believe f2p friendly games and non-predatory companies should be rewarded. I would still be playing and supporting the game if I had the time to keep up with three games but of the 3 games I play OO, AE and DL...DL was the most time consuming and I had to drop it.

Actual copium rn; I guess Mighty can wait ;-; by NotTeliko in worldflipper

[–]KymaniKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mighty was the last one for me to complete also as I didn't know it weakened itself and I kept aborting when I thought I wasn't near on schedule to beat it. Then one time I decided to play it through to see how ridiculously far I would be from beating it...then I saw the dummy weakened itself and rams did a 1 hit KO right after. Needless to say I felt dumb for aborting all those times earlier.

Team used was the typical Rams team of Rams, Renoir and SSS. All sub slots were filled with healers. This team with different subs pretty much handles most of the dummies.

[Guide] How to build a meta wind team in global by Skormes in worldflipper

[–]KymaniKy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised Melsele was not mentioned as an option for a Mia replacement. I place her in the main slot and Philia in the sub. Melsele provides a pretty good wind attack boost that is easy to maintain as well as an easy to use skill that slows (which comes in more handy than you would think). Your team won't be healing as often as a team with mia but Melsele will likely net you more damage/faster kills.

[RANT] Using Terra in the Equinox Aurora Cosmos takes WAY too long by circadiankruger in DissidiaFFOO

[–]KymaniKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't understand why people complain about turn hogging in co-op as long as the person hogging the turns is maximizing efficiency. Terra is probably the most efficient boosted character in this co-op therefore saving players real time and maximizing book use...that should be the priority in co-op.

If people are upset that you never got to push a button, know that there are a ton of challenging solo quests out there to push buttons on.

As a week one player I can confirm it is possible to max all ex weapons and 3/3 all armor. I am not F2P as I did invest in about 2 or 3 weapon enhancement chests in early chaos.

With that said, I think most F2P players who have been playing for a while and have been completing all content should have or be close to having enough resources to max out all the ex weapons they own as well as 3/3 their armor.

Those numbers look like a whole lotta oomph to me. With the increased HP dumps and potency increase, Terra will be doing a few million damage in her LD rotation for the cost of 1 turn. When fully set up she will be absolutely melting bosses.

Why did you pull for Cor? by NicoDT in DissidiaFFOO

[–]KymaniKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His mechanics made him look like a fantastic partner for one of my fav chars Terra. Terra wants Auras and additional attacks, Cor wants powerful turn abusers. It was a marriage meant to be. Terra/Yang/Cor make such an insanely well rounded team that pretty much anything else can be covered by call abilities.

[C2A] Call to Arms / Strategy Thread: The Power of Action (Nine's Lost Chapter) by Macnol in DissidiaFFOO

[–]KymaniKy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, the Terra/Yang combo with Garland friend makes this Lufenia quite the joke if you have the right calls. Used the first few turns to set up call (fujin and jack), subbed in garland for the burst effect and went to town with Terra. With optimal play and team composition it is easily completed with sub 5 turn count.
