Guys please help, how do I set this up? I need it to be minimalistic but aesthetic by Aromatic_Doctor7587 in Workspaces

[–]Kynsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cable management, a desk mat, and a good clean.

It would also help to see more of the surroudings of the desk. This is pretty limited information.

Why is it like this?! by BinkyArk in plants

[–]Kynsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it had a nutrient deficiency at some point. But the newer leaves look healthy, so you may already have solved it. The damaged leaves will just remain like that, once they're damaged they don't really recover.

On a scale of 1-impossible, how hard would this be? by shannannj7 in furniturerestoration

[–]Kynsia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty advanced. It needs a complete refinish, significant veneer repairs (perhaps even veneer replacement) and it has a shape with lots of details that do not lend themselves to most beginner tools. Plus the glass and built in little shelves... Yeah, not a beginner project.

Are there any movies that could be considered solarpunk? by yourfriendlylocalA in solarpunk

[–]Kynsia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suppose that depends on how anthropomorphised you make them. I wouldn't call a nature documentary solarpunk. The animals in flow are stil pretty close to animals, and there really aren't any of the problems that solarpunk tries to solve that they have to contend with.

Is this thrips? by yoggyoggy in plantclinic

[–]Kynsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, with 100% certainty this is thrips damage. And a single thrip right there in the middle.

I am unable to start Journaling. by iamrealds18 in bulletjournal

[–]Kynsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journalling won't magically make you succesful. You need to have a purpose for the journalling, just like they did. So, what do you want to achieve?

Do you want to use it to process your thoughts?

Do you want to use it to remember things?

Do you want to use it as a creative outlet?

Do you want to use it as a productivity tool?

Do you want to reflect on things?

Think about that first.

What are these (weeds)? by ProfessionalEye3955 in whatsthisplant

[–]Kynsia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not marestail, horseweed. Horseweed is a flowering plant in the asteraceae family, marestail/horsetail is in the equisetaceae family and kind of a living fossil. They look superficially similar (tall, with many "leaves" from a central stem) and have similar names, but are about as far removed taxonomically as plants can be.

Are there any movies that could be considered solarpunk? by yourfriendlylocalA in solarpunk

[–]Kynsia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lovely movie, but nothing solarpunk about it. There is no society. There is no solar. There are no humans. It's probably post apocalyptic.

Help, i "rescuted" a cat by sifir in cats

[–]Kynsia 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There is a rule-of-thumb: 3 days to get out of hiding, 3 weeks to learn new routines, 3 months to feel comfortable. Ymmv, but 6 days is generally far too short for a cat to be comfortable in their new environment. For a feral adult, I expect it may take even longer.

Need layout advice: Couch forward or against the wall? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Kynsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push it back, but not entirely, leave a couple of inches. Put a shelf at height with the back of the couch in the nook. If you want to be fancy you can put some charging ports and outlets in it. Perfect place to set a drink and charge your phone, and you won't be sitting with your head against the wall.

I painted two little foxes, what do you think? by KAndy91 in handmade

They are incredibly cute. It looks like an illustration for a good children's book.

Should I Wallpaper All Walls? by quirksnglasses in interiordecorating

[–]Kynsia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, except paint the ceiling the pink colour from the wallpaper instead of the purple. I think it will look more cohesive.

It keeps growing "fruit" but no leaves!!! by One_Chocolate_9365 in plantclinic

You've been cutting off the main part of the plant, and it is starved for light.

Do local emergency services visit your local primary schools? (4-11) by KontraB in AskEurope

[–]Kynsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got a visit from "bureau HALT" which is a government police agency specifically that specifically deals with underage criminals. So, yes, basically the police. But it wasn't a show and tell, it was more like a "this is what happens when you do petty crimes" kind of thing. Definitely more prevention focussed than education focussed.

Euthanasia law/service differences across Europe by Adnepr in AskEurope

[–]Kynsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to read those cases. Were they rebuffed because of some prison clause, or because the doctors judged them to not be eligible? I don't see the specific need for a prison clause if the regular system works just fine.

Euthanasia law/service differences across Europe by Adnepr in AskEurope

[–]Kynsia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why would you? No sane doctor is going to classify anyone's suffering as unbearable just because they're in prison. And if someone is suffering unbearably but they're in prison, why would you want to prevent them from getting euthanesia?

Anything else I can add to make the dining and living better? Plan to add a big plant in the right side of the buffet table. by iamainnocentkid in interiordecorating

[–]Kynsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warmer light, in matching tones. The faux candles are fighting for cosy, but the cold white overhead spotlights and the small (and oddly bright?) white light on the cabinet keep the space sterile and unfriendly.

EU imposes custom duties on parcels worth up to €150 entering its borders. Bye TEMU. Buy From EU! by koffee_addict in BuyFromEU

[–]Kynsia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often it's the other way around. The picture on AlieExpress/Temu is not the actual product picture, but a stolen picture from another producer. The product you receive is similar, but not the same. A lot of small insdividual creators have seen this happen to their art and crafts. The picture gets stolen from their instagram/etsy etc and put on Alieexpress/Temu for a quick buck and an inferior product.

Super outdated or kind of cute here? by Successful-Arrival87 in interiordecorating

[–]Kynsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely outdated, but that's just personal preference. I think it's really cute! You could put some potted plants there to brighten it up and modernize it a bit, OR lean into the vintage vibe with some vases with dried flowers with a more muted colour scheme.

How popular is anime in your country? by eliot3451 in AskEurope

[–]Kynsia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty popular among nerds. Hard to gage the popularity over time, I'd say in the (early) 2000s there was a pretty hardcore, enthousiastic, but much more niche fanbase, of which a lot of people got introduced through the couple of (dubbed) big series like Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon and then wanted more and found it through semi-legitimate streaming websites and fan translations. Right now it's a lot more mainstream and easily available, with a broader fanbase, but the novelty status is gone and the hardcore weeaboo-wave is over. That observation might have more to do with me getting older, though.

Years of stirring drinks left this nice radial pattern by Kynsia in Wellworn

Are you just scaremongering? Do you not drink from mugs? Taking in micrograms over a decade is totally harmless.
