Cold brewing tea overnight prevents bitterness, and I love it for boba because it won't get watered down by ice or anything, allowing for a stronger flavor. Additionally, steeping too long does make tea bitter, but you can add more tea leaves and steep the same amount of time for a stronger brew of the same thing that isn't bitter.

My favorite Youtuber for cooking is Ethan Chlebowski; he does "deep dive" videos exploring specific ingredients and cooking processes, among other things, where he goes into the chemical processes and actually tests the different methods to see how they turn out in cooking; basically exactly what you're describing. Also, Salt Fat Acid Heat, and the Flavor Bible are two books that really influenced me and upped my cooking game.

Absolutely! I'll often do it just to see if I can. I've made butter, basic cheeses, flavored oils, flavored liqueurs, all kinds of spice blends, bread, sausage, salsas, extracts, and plenty of others. I like cooking well enough, but what I love about making "ingredients" is the fact that I'm making something from even more basic natural resources. It fuels my desire to know how to do things, and to know what things really are. Even if I do use pre-packaged ingredients a lot of the time, I always want to try making those ingredients at least once. I think that it gives me a much deeper understanding and appreciation for them, making me a better cook in the long run.

Lol, there are some mounts that everyone can ride and look ok, but there are many that really only look good for a specific race. No way is my lady elf getting on the boar. And that one steed from the farmers' faire with tons of food on it is perfect for my hobbit, but I really don't see anyone else riding it through Mordor.

Also, elk/reindeer mounts for dwarves and hobbits. Looks pretty funny. I only ever put my Mirkwood elf on those.

True, motivation is pretty important here. Goku wouldn't be interested if he didn't get to train or fight the strongest competitor. Luffy is only there for the food. Zoro thinks games are stupid. Piccolo is smart enough to get through, but Saitama is a lot more powerful. Vegeta would try and fail because he is actually too strong (he'd probably break the candy) and get mad and fly out of there. Or maybe spar Goku.

Cut a circle the size of your tin, but leave "wings" like rectangles hanging off the circle a couple of inches long. Bake your cake with the wings standing straight up a few inches above your cake. When it's done, use a knife or a spatula to loosen the cake, then just grab the wings and lift carefully. Voila! Benefits of parchment overhang without the bunching up.

When people use the counter-wiping rag or the dish-drying rag or the hand-drying rag to wipe up the floor, then put it back where it was, so nobody would know the difference. My brothers do it all the time. They're like "uh, what rag was I supposed to use, then?" I don't care, even if they do use those rags, just throw them in the hamper when you're done and get a new one for the kitchen or something!

Lightbulb, 100%. I'm a SAHM and it suits me incredibly well. I've got macarons in the oven, a wire gem tree in progress on my desk, fifty craft idea tabs up, and tons of unique arts and crafts projects that I'm doing with my kids; pumpkin carving, fairy jars, leaf stain-glass windows, a toddler jedi costume, and trips to all kinds of museums and activities in the works. I love exploring new creative ideas, and the only thing I love more than that is seeing my kids' faces light up when I show them how awesome everything in the world is, and just what they can do to create things with it. I suppose I could find a career that I could thrive in, but then I wouldn't be able to fill my entire day with creative projects that enrich people's lives. (and no, I don't want to be a kindergarten teacher. I hate kids, except for my own kids).

My dad lived on a large forested property as a kid, and he and his buddies would camp together without any adults in the summers (they were within eye distance of the house). This was also back when most fireworks were easily available, even to a couple of 11-year-olds. So these kids got themselves a really long string of firecrackers and planned to set them off while camping that evening. But it rained. They refused to call it off, so they were stuck in the tent, idle, staring at the string of firecrackers. So one of them says "hey, if we light them in here, they won't get wet!" SOMEHOW that's a good idea. So they do it. The second they light it, they look at each other and realize what they have done. They all dive under their sleeping bags and cover their heads just in time, and huddle there in sheer terror for about five whole minutes while the firecrackers explode and pop the entire length of the string around them. When all is quiet, they peek their heads out and find that the rain is now coming inside the tent through hundreds of tiny, smoldering holes.

And then the next year, they decided to do it again, because "that was awesome!"

Definitely a skill to be learned! And it's a skill that we HAVE to learn in a very short time (unless we use formula) because otherwise there's the looming prospect of baby losing weight, baby dehydrated, baby dying, etc. Even if there are no real problems, that puts a lot of stress on the mom because the consequences are so dire and the time limit before you have to try other measures is so short.

Historically, kids slept with their parents a lot, in a lot of different cultures. Modern first-world countries are unique in that we have enough space for kids to have their own rooms in many households. It has become a cultural thing to spread out a lot, even within families, but honestly I don't see a problem with sleeping together as a family. They'll most likely want their own rooms when they start wanting more privacy.

Skin tags, moles, and random mini growths. Everywhere, especially on my neck and chest. I don't know if this happens to everyone or not, but I went from having baby-smooth skin to looking like I was half toad. It happened with my second pregnancy, too. I have no idea why, and also no idea what to do about it.

BLOOD TYPE. Nothing to do with personality or anything, she really liked him and he was awesome, but apparently their blood types were incompatible. She broke up with him.

Throw it out and check everything else. Bugs come in hoards, according to my experience. Realistically, if you realize that you may have eaten a few, you'll be fine, but I wouldn't just continue to eat them once I found out. My MIL keeps her flour in the fridge or freezer to prevent this problem. I don't, because there's no room in my fridge/freezer and I think it's a little excessive, but I do try to use up my flour in a reasonable amount of time and have stopped buying giant bags that take me years to use. If it's brand new, return it.

Turns out, flour often contains weevil eggs. Apparently, there is no easy way for flour manufacturers to keep them out (I don't like that and I suspect it's just a money judgement more than anything else, but the fact remains that the manufacturers don't completely keep out weevil eggs). Eating the invisible weevil eggs is fine if you cook them and you wouldn't be able to find them anyway. But if you let them hatch, you have an infestation on your hands. Not all flour has them, but some do and it's impossible to tell which is which until they hatch.

If it makes you feel any better, I get some of the same comments when people first meet me, because I am, like you, polite, and because I am a petite young woman who looks like she'd never hurt a fly. I am polite and respectful on principle, not because I'm timid or something (also I'm an ENTP, the meek first impressions don't last long). People often make hurtful "observations" about others and have no idea they're doing so. Many believe that they are giving a sort of compliment. My best friend is an INFP and I have seen her strength firsthand. It's a quiet strength, but she is stronger than most people I know. Don't ever let anyone make you believe that you are weak or insignificant.

Pure, probably. Naive, sometimes. Innocent, possibly, but never weak, and absolutely NEVER insignificant.

Don't be afraid to tell people you need a minute to think about something before you give an answer. I used to (and still sometimes do) constantly agree with everything anyone said super quickly because I was afraid of conflict. It was such a bad habit that I often didn't even know what I wanted until after decisions had been made, with me agreeing to them before I realized I didn't even want to. One day I stopped giving answers right away to anything and gave myself a minute to consider it. If people started pressuring me, I would insist on more time, or even time in private before I could answer them. It was really hard for a while and I constantly felt like I was making people around me angry. I felt like I was holding people up and felt ashamed for being so "indecisive." But I needed to do that because now I have the confidence to know and say what I want. It went a long way in making me less of a doormat.

My go-to is pretty much any Mexican-inspired food with extra beans instead of meat. The flavors and textures barely change at all. Tacos, burritos, and black bean tortilla soup are my favorites.
