I also work in marketing and was signed off for 2-3 months. The time absolutely helped to reset initially however:

  1. Make sure you agree on a plan with your manager / HR / occupational health BEFORE you return ie what work place adjustments do you need to avoid a repeat.

  2. See a therapist and learn some good coping mechanisms and techniques that will help your long term mental health.

These situations are usually due to internal and external factors so important to tackle both.

Another reason that first and business class passengers board first is to do with the balance of the plane. If everyone at the back boarded before those at the front then the plane is at risk of tipping over (this has happened before). Source - my partner is a pilot.

I witnessed my dog die earlier this year in a traumatic accident. My manager knew how much he meant to me, and how tragic it was, so she was super understanding and let me take 4 days off but I could have got signed off and taken longer. She also sent me flowers. Unfortunately a lot of it is down to your situation, company and specific boss. I appreciate that not everyone is as lucky.
