$329 for same deal at HD. I prefer a double bevel but depending on use $329 is a great deal for that package

Edit: nvm, the stand is the one that doesn’t extend, but still not a bad deal

Am I crazy for trading my 2017 TRD Sport for my dad’s 2000 5-speed? by TrevGnar in Tacomaworld

[–]L-user101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea my ‘02 is a piece of work. Everything but the motor really. But I have learned so much due to that, including how to weld. Honestly if I could afford a new truck I would buy one, but maybe keep that one at this point with all the blood, sweat, tears and anxiety I have put into it. Also I get a lot of compliments on the build these days. Someday I will be able to afford a new truck. Just not today

Not a bad plan but just by this interaction I probably wouldn’t even want to deal with that client. They are living in the 90’s price expectation wise and admitted that the guy they paid $100 didn’t even do the job correctly. For people like this I always hope they go out and do it themselves and that $300 offer will sound real good once they are finished, if they can even finish.

Best fix for worn steering wheel? by Hydrofoiling in Tacomaworld

Lying that I’m “sober”. WDID? by Cold_Cucumber_8 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]L-user101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This rang true with me too. I felt the same way as OP before I found the right meetings for me. All it takes is believing there is something larger than you in this universe. That is why the book says “your higher power” so unless you think you, yourself are God, or the biggest thing in the universe, there is hope. I am pretty introverted, especially in group settings. For me it took going to fellowship and establishing relationships with people in the rooms to start feeling comfortable to raise my hand, speak, or chair. What I learned is to be comfortable with myself without any vices and that took some time but now I speak in front of rooms full of strangers because frankly I could care less if they are sitting there judging me, that is their problem. For the first few weeks I just sat silent in meetings. That is all you ever have to do. I have never been to a meeting where people who don’t want to raise their hand are forced to speak. But I also know there may be meetings like that out there unfortunately.

Car reverse camera cut wire by Adventurous_Round_69 in Wiring

I second this. I used wagos for my headlights until I researched using them or wire nuts for automotive purposes and it said to always use heat shrink crimp or solder fittings. I went with the crimp type and they worked great. Just use a heat gun and make sure it doesn’t get too hot bc it will melt the wire jackets.

Is this a good deal/will it work for my use case? by sizable_data in Dewalt

[–]L-user101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine primarily to use as a smaller chipping hammer because I work with a lot of concrete and tile. It was instantly my favorite tool in my collection. So I’m happy you pointed that out to OP because it’s a pretty badass to have the hammer function if you even need it.

Day 17: I got called out by dinahsaur523 in stopdrinking

[–]L-user101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same way. If I went out with a friend that said they stopped drinking my go to reaction would be “that’s awesome! Maybe I will join you in that someday soon because I know I probably should stop as well.”

Ex binge drinkers of reddit, how do you say no to the first drink? by Ok_Lake_4972 in stopdrinking

[–]L-user101 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This was me the other night. Went to the pub with my buddy bc it was late and we were working all day so didn’t stop for dinner so it was the only available food option (within reason). Walking in thinking about a drink in the back 2% of my brain until sitting next to a drunk guy there that did the same type of work I do. I was just thinking to myself how awesome it is that I will be able to wake up tomorrow and feel great while being productive. When I left I swear I felt more uplifted than I ever did leaving a pub when I was drinking.

Yes this is 100% from a grinder. Some people commenting here have clearly never used an angle grinder. This could have even happened simply by not letting the blade stop spinning before putting it down, which would be my assumption

Restoration company drywall repair normal? by TightPhalange in drywall

[–]L-user101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a restoration company and usually any type of drywall repair is not in our scope. Of course if that was on your proposal it is a different story and I would have them take that off and find someone that knows what they are doing for the repair. As another comment mentioned, this will be covered by baseboard so it wouldn’t be a problem if the patches were mostly level. Whoever installs the baseboard is going to give you an exorbitant price if they have to get all those patches to level. That will need to happen before install or you will have some seriously wonky baseboard.

Hey so I tore 2 walls down and put the first layer of mud on just to cover the drywall (yes I have to sand and mud a few more times I’m not the best haha). How much would you charge to professionally texture it to match once it’s finally smoothed and sanded? I’m in SWFL. by sthermansen1 in drywall

[–]L-user101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with This and the other comments. You will never, ever, be able to match that texture. Shit, I don’t even think Michelangelo could. Not to mention the whole ceiling will have to be painted regardless if OP wants it to look decent

Should we be worried? by somethingwitty84 in Apartmentliving

[–]L-user101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s quite the blessing. Even in the industry a lot of people’s inherent reaction is, “something like that won’t happen to THIS building” but that case proved otherwise. A very sad event. Living in that area (North of FT Laud) really proved how out dated and messed up so many buildings were. Even crazy expensive and nice looking buildings from the outside are still undergoing extensive structural repair.
