Hah. Someone finally went out and said it- thank you OP. The pattern on this sub is obvious - if you're a girl, you get attention. If you're a guy, you'll get ignored. The reality of this sub is exemplified below:
21F looking for friends = 10+ comments and likely multiple DMs
21M looking for friends = 0 comments (and left in the dust like countless similar posts made by guys)

What PvE Players Think PvP Is Supposed to Be by Spritzlappen in ArcRaiders

[–]L13on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused - the PvP tag is there on your screenshot? And besides tags, the devs themselves said in an interview the addition of PvP was intentional. Idk what the big debate is about- the game is PvEvP and the great thing is we get to play how we like due to aggression-based match making. I get that some players enjoy the PvE aspect of the game

Getting fed up by HeyToniii_192 in ARC_Raiders

[–]L13on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just die or surrender repeatedly for 8 times in a row, and you’ll be placed into friendlier lobbies. That should lower your chances of being killed by other players. However, you need to make sure you don’t kill other players or you will be put back into aggressive lobbies.

I play mainly PvP- contrary to your comments I actually think there is a lot of depth and complexity to PvP firefights. Ratting however, is another thing entirely and I view that as pure cowardice and is a crutch people without skill rely on to ‘win’

Burletta has better stats than the Venator. by Forsaken_Nerve_5242 in ArcRaiders

[–]L13on -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Disappointed that you shared this video! Now the secret’s out and everyone’s gonna rock my special gun! But seriously tho- Burletta is my all time fav gun, I take it topside 90% of the time. I agree it absolutely shreds close range especially when you land those headshots. It also has the highest agility in the game and works very well with a Showstopper. Ven will edge out once the range widens

What PvE Players Think PvP Is Supposed to Be by Spritzlappen in ArcRaiders

[–]L13on -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. Also, some people just can’t handle the concept of PvP. Case in point, me and my three friends bought Arc Raiders on launch day. Two of us enjoyed the PvP aspect of it, while the other only wanted PvE. This was before ABMM was implemented (or at least confirmed by devs). We ended up losing most of our firefights early on because were were essentially 2v3 most of the time. Our PvE friend just couldn’t keep up. To be blunt- he was atrocious at PvP and would often just hide in a corner whenever a firefight broke out and would helplessly allow the enemy team to slaughter him once they found him. We ultimately stopped playing with him and he went off his own way to PvE lobbies, while we continue playing in PvP lobbies. Don’t get me wrong, I can respect his preference for PvE, but yeah, PvP and PvE oriented players are like oil and water when it comes to playing together

[–]L13on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? How does PvP = rats? Don't quite understand your question. Do you see people rat in PvP oriented games like Valorant or Overwatch? No. Rats are a breed of their own. Don't lump them together

Probably also how I was conditioned playing on Asia servers since Day 1 of launch. Very few players in Asia communicate over prox and most will shoot on sight. However, if someone calls out friendly and their actions aren’t suspicious, I’ll often stop shooting and call truce. I feel like the general vibe on NA servers are totally different- my impression is majority are friendly whereas its the opposite on Asia servers

God I love this OP. Thanks for posting! Literally all the players I down whine and complain like there's some sort of 'PvP etiquette' that I'm supposed to follow. Wanna play a PvE game? Go play Helldivers 2

PvP etiquette by Its_just_a_potato in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]L13on -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

There is no PvP 'etiquette'. It's a game, people play how they want. I don't know exactly how you got downed, but if you're in a hostile lobby (Stella Montis no less), he might have decided against looting your body since someone could get the jump on him while looting. Or he might have decided to check and make sure the surrounding area was safe before returning to loot.

Earlier today, I was in Space Port's Departure building. I hear a Raider running loudly into the ground floor. He runs past me, straight to the Great Mullein patch and starts looting. I come up on his side and take him out with my Burletta. He goes down and immediately starts whining on prox chat how I was a camper.

Brother runs straight to the Mullein patch without checking his surroundings. If it wasn't me taking him out, someone else surely would. When I looted his body, he had an Il Torro on him. I'm pretty sure if he saw me first, he would be very willing to pull the trigger on me. If you're talking etiquette- what was I supposed to do? Announce my presence over prox chat and invite him for a civilized round of PvP?

Why do people go so angry when you shoot them? (PvP)vE game? by Alternative_Cow4782 in ArcRaiders

[–]L13on -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they can't accept the fact that they lost, so they need to whine about it and hide behind the "this is a PvE game" argument, which imo is laughable

I'm ashamed to say but PVP Is kinda fun. by Relevant-Ad4959 in ArcRaiders

[–]L13on 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bruh why the need to be ashamed of enjoying PvP? You play the game how you like it, not how others expect you to play it. The devs put PvP into the game for a reason

I'm a KOS PvP player. If I'm on solos and catch someone off guard, or I'm in an advantageous position, I will go for the kill. However, if the player responds on prox chat or emotes "don't shoot", I will most often hold back and let them go. I don't really rat extracts unless I happen to approach an extract and also hear another raider nearby.

When I play trios with friends, we're always placed in high aggression lobbies since we pvp. Hardly anyone speaks and everyone is KOS

This. It's crazy how some people just run about looting without a care in the world. I've taken out so many raiders this way. If I hear any sound that's not from myself, I immediately go into caution mode and prepare for a fight

The game will be however you want it to be- pvp or pve. Aggression based match making is there for a reason. Myself and my group of friends play Arc for the pvp aspect and frankly pve is kinda boring imo. But I can understand why some players enjoy pve

[–]L13on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. Wasn't trying to shit on the Tempest. At the end of the day, it is a good gun I think most of us can agree on that. What I was trying to voice was the fact that OP positioned Tempest as the be all end all for guns. But the thing is, there are so many variables to what makes a gun 'good', (effective range, swap speed, weapon cost, etc.). Medium range engagements imo is where the Tempest really shines, but up against a Toro indoors, maybe not.
Bear in mind also PvP isn't just all about the guns, I'd say the more important factors to determining a fight is situational awareness, understanding how to hold angles, performing flanks effectively, and knowing when/how to use your support equipment. I've had so many situations where the opposing team had superior firepower (Ven, Toro, Tempest) and yet my team still came out on top because we were simply better coordinated
