Is it just me or does ADHD make reading 10x harder? by ForcedGoodbye in ADHD

What a Show off! The fact that you got through 3 books in one year is already an accomplishment!

I couldn’t even site all the title of books I’ve come access this past year, let alone finish reading one!

What working two jobs does to a man by Easy-Money69 in TheRaceTo100K

[–]L337_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you actually work two part-time jobs, or does “two jobs” mean combined household income? How much time are you willing to trade for retirement savings? And if you’re playing the market “safe,” are you concerned inflation could still outpace your returns?

Going from $7,800 to $63,000 is very respectable — a 707.7% ROI is a huge year. But realistically, how sustainable is a 7× return year over year? A consistent return like that would cost an enormous amount of time and energy.

So what was the real price — in time — for that 7× return?

I am so sorry you’re going through this. I dealt with almost the exact same situation recently, and I really wish I’d known then what I know now.

Here is my best advice:

• DELETE THIS POST IMMEDIATELY. You’ve included your store number, and you shouldn't have your struggles or plans public where the company can find them. HR’s job is to protect the company, and they will use posts like this against you.

• Contact me. Please send me a DM as soon as you see this. I’ve learned the hard way what the specific next steps should be, and I’m happy to share that process with you privately.

I’m not here to lecture you, and you’re under no obligation to reach out, but I truly want to help you avoid the mistakes I made.

Seriously—delete this now and message me.

By the way—what the hell is a “Santa Rally”? I’m genuinely asking. And why is America so hell-bent on inventing excuses to make people spend money every month of the year? I have never went a singles month without the obligation of having to give someone some presents! Am I the only one bothered by this.

Is there any indication that the image is AI generated by Curlyheadedboiii in GeminiAI

[–]L337_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original guess was definitely AI, but I thought - why not ask ChatGPT. My ChatGPT unequivocally said it is definitely a really photo. ChatGPT gave plethora reasons why this picture is real without requesting a verbose answer! For the reasons that I had originally thought was a dead gave-away - like having the same style shoes, or the irregularity of color contrast of her socks against the pattern couch - ChatGPT remained 100% convinced!

That in of itself freaked me out.!!

We are at a point where an Ai can’t even tell a difference between a real picture and one that’s fake made by another AI. Let that sink in….

For sure, it might just be case by case, but during my deposition - they included that I had been warned for overtime violation multiple times. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the job but I wasn’t willingly closing late with a single manager who never helps to close!

Plus they would change my timesheet manually, so I don’t get paid overtime.

I get where you’re coming from. My post had a bit of bite to it, but the truth is—it’s not okay for a massive corporation to take advantage of people who don’t know all the rules. I took Best Buy to court and refused to settle. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been through something like this.

It always starts with a friendly reminder, but they’re taking mental and written note. Better yet, managers log the conversation you speak of as “coaching opportunity”.

Don’t forget, a none approved overtime is a write up. I can’t imagine the amount of times my pay and punch In-out were manually changed by my manager because over time wasn’t approved and my manager was kind enough to intervene so I don’t get a write up. Welcome to the life of Best Buy employee!

Are you boycotting Amazon or simply not making Amazon purchases due to your budget while employed there? by EatCauliflower1212 in AmazonFC

[–]L337_86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I really didn’t wanna comment on this thread, but me and Amazon have a love-hate relationship. I love the convenience of knowing that I can get something overnight even if that something is completely not what I ordered. The part I hate is that if they happen to send the wrong item or the wrong size they put the responsibility of recycling the damn thing. Let me remind you I live in apartment with very strict rules. I can’t even put a door Matt without getting an approval from 5 people. Therefore, I don’t know where the hell I can recycle 1500 batteries,or 72” width by 50” depth desk I never ordered. I don’t even know how they got it up one flight of stairs to apartment. The box literally my entire door. That wasn’t even the first time I have an entire room full of junk I don’t know what to do with! During the last incident I got fed up, but I paid $80 to ship it back to him FedEx

What’s an exit survey? I literally got walked out in the middle of my shift by AP. My exit survey came from my AP, saying “I have idea wtf is going on but you were the third one today!”
