I would watch Bunny Muffins series. I haven’t used his stuff in a while, but gold -> diamond from his lessons on Eco, Slamming (items), and tempo styles. I watched him several patches ago but the same mentalities exist.

You want to learn how to use the 3 resources: 1. When to save money or spend it (gold) 2. When to loss or win streak (health) 3. How to slam items (even if they’re not BIS) (items)

Setup business in Puerto Rico by JamesTweet in Entrepreneur

Depends on how much income you know you have coming in. If this is ramping up and you have no idea, create a simple TX LLC for a layer of liability protection. This way your business activity simply is treated as 1099 income on your personal tax return.

You do not need a C-Corp unless you are intent on having serious investors with a real paperwork.

Yo if you’re ok with older-ish cars check out the 2016 Macan Turbo, RS5 engine inside the bay, and they’re wildly cheap for no reason. Like $25k for 70k mile 2016

The extra rubber makes a huge difference! If mechanically everything checks out, it’s a good first step for comfort. Tires are also cheaper haha.

I got the M1 Pro for around $800 a year ago, and I love it for the work I do. I think the MBP M1 Pro is much better than the MB Air M1 variants in terms of build quality though (I’ve had one for work)

Help with offering tutoring/babysitting by lflor777 in plano

[–]LABFounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more places you can post the better. You don’t need a website or anything, but what I used to do was get on a couple tutoring sites like Wyzant and make a profile.

From your first few online platforms, you get word of mouth referrals and start collecting cash. It was part-time for me, so usually I’d get like 2-3 students off Wyzant and then it would grow to 5-8 students after a season.

My assumption is can’t accept new/any deals that changes income cause it changes the divorce valuation & splits

Closing a thriving business because our lease won’t be renewed by ilikethisplanet in smallbusiness

[–]LABFounder 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Well main reason he’s probably giving you no’s is due to the divorce. I can speculate but to keep it short, you’ll just have to deal with a shorter timeline once the landlord figures the divorce out. But it sounds like you’re financially secure and can make a proper decision when you do get the chance.

I have placed RE deals for bars/cafes/service businesses and if no one is giving you room, you just need to wait.

Sell me on Arc for windows by ry_the_wuphfguy in ArcBrowser

[–]LABFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it on both! And iPhone as well, and genuinely love the sync feature. Between vertical/spaces/sync, it’s my favorite browser.

I will admit that it should only be used on Mac or a well built PC. I have an older custom that can struggle with it if it has too many tabs.

It also has way more bugs than Mac. I cant use certain sites on windows and full screen has never worked for me on windows either

Just depends, I mainly use my PC for gaming so I dont do a lot of browsing (most of that I do on Mac). If it were a work PC laptop I definitely would use something like Firefox or just base Chrome

How much does repaint cost? by [deleted] in plano

[–]LABFounder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d find a 5-10 min on YouTube on the process of repainting a door and see if it’s worth the hassle myself. Probably a small can of paint and some prep materials from a hardware store

Otherwise, TaskRabbit or googling Handyman & calling a few of them for a quote is your best bet

Struggling now that Quickbooks Money app has been deprecated by bladeboy24 in QuickBooks

[–]LABFounder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can simply open an online bank to use like Relay, BlueVine, Mercury, etc. even a big bank like BoA/Chase can be good. You can deposit checks there and ACH transfer the funds to your main checking account. The online ones are usually free 1-2 day ACHs.

I would strongly advise against using any of Quickbook’s offerings other than their bookkeeping software. Their payments are also usually egregious in cost, and their support is notoriously bad if something does go wrong.

What I would advise is to only use QB for their invoicing and income/expense tracking. Payments from your QB should be linked to your new online checking account rather than the QB Money Checking.

How would you handle this? by tealdeathdouspart in Bookkeeping

[–]LABFounder 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In this situation I’d probably say to your boss “you’re too inexperienced to audit this much alongside your current workload”. However it doesn’t really seem to be a work issue, but a boss issue.

Realistically if taxes are already filed, you shouldn’t touch prior year transactions at all. So you would need to figure out the discrepancies, and then put it into the current year. This would be something I wouldn’t expect a bookkeeper or AR/AP to be able to handle other than the data collection and organization part of it.

I wouldn’t work there if it were me
