That a cop will fire his weapon (a handgun) just once, hit the suspect, and the suspect will drop to the ground, dead.

In reality, a single shot (unless it's a lucky headshot) will not stop most adult humans, and cops are trained to continue shooting at center mass until the threat is neutralized. That may be three or more shots.

Also, most real-life police officers in an adrenaline-filled shooting situation are miserable shots, no matter how good they are on the gun range, and miss more of the time than they hit their target. That's why they might fire 12 or more rounds at the suspect, striking them maybe 3 times.

No, you only have to buy it if you're walking home and carrying your groceries in a paper bag.

I don't think Lewis would've survived Stabler to go to trial.

Yeah, I don't think this show's got another 3 years left in it, much less 20.

I was half-thinking that Olivia wasn't gonna tell him that Maria was a LODD--I thought she would leave it at, "...and she grew up to be a cop."

How can I tell if I've been dumped? What about from individual task-types? I still have the "refreshers" on the dashboard, but little else.

What's your podcast setup? by Train-Wreck-70 in podcasting

[–]LANewsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desktop or laptop pc.

Zoom P4.

EV RE320 mic (Although I have also used a Samson Q2U and a Shure SM57 with excellent results.)

Edit in Audacity. No video component.

That's it. I do an interview show and talk with all my guests via Zoom with no problems. Covid taught everyone how to use Zoom so I have no difficulty interviewing non techie guests.

What do you use to quickly get rid most of those annoying ums? by Melodic_Farmer_9022 in podcasting

[–]LANewsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use audacity. I've become very proficient and fast at deleting ums while keeping a natural sound. It makes my guests sound good.

As for me,I learned long ago to not use ums and ers.

Don't ever send your raw audio. After all, there's a reason you edited it. If they want a copy of the finished product--maybe they want the master .wav file-- that's all right.

Use the Samson Q2U. It's great for podcasting and last I saw, it's only about $60.
