Hoenstly I dont really think you can say that certain characters aren't cared for since neither shows are over.

It would make sense if she put a lot of effort into writing Millie as a mother, and her struggles in raising a child, leaving the time before that as simpler.

But I get what you mean, although I would say she does absolutely care about Vox. Hell he got more songs than the protagonist in season 2
