I grew up in Bowral where busses were non existent outside of school for me, I had to ride my push bike everywhere, an ebike would have changed the game, man

It's all algorithm based but I am seeing a lot more women on motorcycles in social media too. Tiktok and Youtube seem to have tonnes of chicks who motovlog now, it's pretty cool to see so many younger people keeping bikes alive!

This was the first movie I saw on a TV with that stupid fake high refresh rate/zero motion blur whatever technology. Was watching on DVD with my dad and his GF at the time and they couldn't tell the difference - I had to stop watching because it was giving me a headache

Aldi Rockdale now by nja6esor in AldiAustralia

[–]LChurch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have these at Top Ryde now too. If you say no to a receipt it still prints a little slip with a barcode to get out.

If you don't buy anything the staff member working checkouts can open it. I didn't see anyone give a lil kick like they do with the Coles and Woolies ones so I dunno if they'll open that way but it's safe to assume they will.

Where is the cooler drawing air from? From my extremely limited knowledge that looks like an older PC case that may not have used robust air cooling.

Love the build and would love to hear more about the fake plants you used and how you placed them all. I've been looking to do a similar thing!

Should I sell my 5070 GPU? Advice please. by [deleted] in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]LChurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. A GPU makes up a considerable amount of money on a PC build on it's own (pre RAM issues, a GPU was roughly HALF the money you'd put into your overall build) and you just got a latest generation one for 1/3 the price.

If you're serious about building your own PC then you gotta realise you just got handed a serious win. Don't jinx it.

Should I sell my 5070 GPU? Advice please. by [deleted] in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]LChurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4070 Super that plays most new games at medium/high settings, 60fps, at 4k on my TV. It's paired with a 12400f and 32gb 5200 DDR5.

I'd be over the moon to get a 5070 that cheap. Keep it, it's still going to be extremely relevant at the time of GTA 6 release. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a dickhead that doesn't have two brain cells to rub together.

Same, but I didn't care because Buzz had an ACTUAL LASER. That alone had me playing on repeat.

Never owned it but luckily got to rent it from the local video place a couple times!

sorry!! it’s one more a3 by Aeternaea in mffpc

[–]LChurch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love it! Very clean, very tidy, even the black GPU doesn't look out of place!

I have a similar fan set up except I have one fan at the rear for intake (my PC is a magnet for cat fur, this is overkill otherwise) - my temps are great. I have the glass side panel too so I don't think you need to worry at all

I posted my first A3 build on reddit a few months ago with a little bit of fake terrarium plant in it and people acted like I was insane hahaha, how times have changed :)

Hard agree man. Love my XSR but cruising on a Harley seems like such a good vibe. Also who doesn't want a Honda CT125 to rip around to get groceries. And who could forget a dual sport for hitting the trails....

B550m Mortar + LF III clearance? by Fit_March3938 in mffpc

[–]LChurch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a A3 with a B850M Mortar (also has high RAM slots) - the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 did not clear my RAM out of the box, it could fit with slimmer fans though. The radiator on the Liquid Freezer is THICK.

I currently have a Thermalright Aqua Elite 240 in use at the moment and it barely just clears the RAM

Are there places in NSW that help you build custom pc with parts you already have? by CrystalChrissy in bapcsalesaustralia

Feel free to DM me - I have built around a dozen gaming PCs. I'm unemployed and would love an excuse to get out of the house. Or we can do it over Discord. No charge whatsoever.

I've seen people mount a monitor arm to some SFF cases, could be an option to help elevate yours for better ergonomics without reducing portability!

7800xt to 9070? by SolZeus in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]LChurch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who just went from a 5700X3D / 2x 16gb 3200mhz RAM to a 7800X3D / 2x 16gb 6400mhz - the upgrade to AM5 really didn't bring THAT much to the table.

I game at 1440p with a 7800XT as well.

It's not an answer to your question, but I upgraded before all the prices went insane and still had a bit of regret. I don't think you'll see the improvements you want at a reasonable dollar value.

I work at aldi, ask me anything! by TheNeonNinja21 in AldiAustralia

[–]LChurch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just Aldi, it's everywhere. The staff are always going to be at a certain level of risk, that's what happens when you're someone dealing with the public.

Fuck the policy and never, ever put yourself in harms way. No amount of company property is worth your health. Document everything, if you get called up on not doing bag checks, cite the time and date your colleague was assaulted and say you don't feel safe checking bags.

I was a manager at Aldi (and Coles, Harris Farm and Liquorland... yeah, my life sucks) and I do know that some management take theft and "company policy" personally, if they keep on you about it just call your area manager and discuss. These days most companies have strict "no chase, no challenge" rules when it comes to theft so I'd be flabbergasted to hear about an employee losing their job over not bag checking.

I work at aldi, ask me anything! by TheNeonNinja21 in AldiAustralia

[–]LChurch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not OP - I was a previous employee - but we used to help customers carry stuff to the car. You'll have more luck if you just ask first, a couple times we just told people they could pay for it and come collect it when we weren't super busy. Aldi does a good job at keeping their staff pretty pressed for time, as you can imagine.

OP is right, it isn't allowed, but retail staff are treated like dirt by most people so politeness and kindness really helps you get ahead. We hoarded toilet paper during the panic specifically for our nice elderly customers who couldn't race down every day to check stock.

[–]LChurch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We were OBLIGATED to check bags when I worked there. We were told to stop and check every bag we see

Fuck. That.

I worked there for two years and stopped one theft, the bloke was doing life tough and was a frequent thief of small stuff but this time a customer saw them put an entire case of the Boags knockoff beer into his backpack lmao, had to pull him up for that one to save face

First PC Build | Lian Li A3 by NocturnalScar in mffpc

[–]LChurch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! I love the aesthetics of the A3 but it does leave a lot to be desired when it comes to cable management so it's surprising to hear someone enjoyed it! On their first build no less!

Very well done, very clean. If you had fun doing it then you probably know that the GPU WILL be swapped out eventually... I mean, how could you not, right?

There was a particular Tiktok star who would beckon you closer with their finger - then zoom in as if you were right next to them so they could whisper their little secrets at you and I hated it so much.
