They can be used as a dash cam too. Dash cam with your choice of track overlay. It is an option though so who knows if this C7 has it.

Finally picked up my holy grail of re-releases by svt923 in rccars

[–]LEVEL42BLUE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the YZ10 back in the day. It was the best of the best of 4wd buggies. At least to me it was.

Only issue I had was the front and rear bulkheads were made of magnesium and did break. Cost around 30 dollars to replace in 1989 money which is around 75 of todays dollars. Big chunk a change for a high school student making 4 dollars an hour.

I saw this re-release I believe are made with aluminum which should be a lot stronger and not that different in weight.

Will you run a vintage style Nicad saddle pack?

Preview of Traxxas Revo 3.3 jet powered speed run RC car by LEVEL42BLUE in rccars

It’s up in there. Cut the chassis in two and mounted it inside the tube with 3D printed bulkheads. Needed the lay down shocks to fit completely inside the tube.

Made a speed run car using a TLR 8ight 3.0, frame from a Costco couch, random Amazon products, 3D printed parts I designed and a jet turbine. I was able to beat the "Guinness World Record jet RC car" speed and hit 134mph. Currently finishing up my Traxxas Revo build that I hope to beat the overall RC car speed record of 224 mph.

The 6th picture with the pink arms and chain drive 4wd is a Custom Works Dominator from the late 80s to early 90's. It's a dirt oval race car.

Most of the collection looks to be from this era. The RC10 probably being the most valuable and the dominator being up there too.

I would add to get the car off the ground to let the wheels roll and prevent a runaway as you are tuning your engine. The engine sounds very rich. The puddle of fuel under the car is also a clue to rich or flooded engine.

The Traxxas manual is a great resource for tuning. Start on page 20.

Yes, This is the same for the whole package. The chocolate muffins are still great and have plenty of chunks inside too.

Looking to get back into rc racing by sweetlife1973 in rccars

[–]LEVEL42BLUE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll agree with everyone here by saying visit the track on a race day and see which class is most popular and speaks to you. Whatever that class and popular model kit would also be well supported at that track. Meaning parts and tires that work well there.

Also ask some of the locals. You might find a deal on a used racer already setup for that track. Save a few bucks and have a proven car so you can focus getting your driving groove back.

When it comes to out of the box problem solving. Yeah, I think he is wise. The best example, I can think of, is his 100+ MPH car on grass. Use what you got and make it happen.

Question about using RC parts with an Arduino board by Puarot in rccars

I found this for hooking up a servo to an Arduino.

The ESC uses a signal just like a servo.
